Mecklenburg Co., VA Deed Bk 6, p. 155:
Munford to Wooton: This Indenture
made this 12th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and eighty one, between Robert Munford of the County of Mecklenburg of the one
part and Samuel Wooton of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the
said Robert Munford for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty
pounds sterling to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby
acknowledge as also in consideration of the covenant herein enfeoffed, hath
bargained and sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth
bargain and sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Samuel Wooton and his
heirs a certain tract or parcel of land being part of a tract purchased by the
said Robert Munford of Elizabeth Bressie and bounded as followeth by Edward
Lewis's lines the widow Wooton's line, Thomas Bressie's line and a new line of
marked Tracs(?) on Robert Munford's present line until it intersects Lewis's
line. To have and to hold the said land with all the woods underwoods ways
waters and water courses thereunto belonging and the recession and reversions,
remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof to the said Samuel
Wooton his heirs and assigns for use, and the said Robert Munford for himself
and his heirs the said land and premises to the said Samuel Wooton and his heirs
against the claim or demand of the said Robert Munford and his heirs shall and
will warrant and forever defend by these presents. The said Samuel Wooton on his
part doth covenant that he will teach a boy for the said Robert Munford the
trade of a white wright and in all things him as a good Master ought to do by
clothing feeding and instructing the said apprentice (or servant) until he is
master of his business. In consideration of the whole of the premises and
covenants expressed the said Robert Munford hath hereunto set his hand and
affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
