FATAL ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING
Tuesday morning intelligence reached this place of the fatal shooting on Monday afternoon of a 15 year old son of Mrs B L Bader, living near Star or Dorsey; The boy was out shooting or playing with an old army musket which was loaded for wolves, and by some means or other, we could not learn exactly how, the gun was discharged, the load entering his breast and causing almost instant death. Parties came in Monday night to secure coffin, leaving early Tuesday morning. The funeral occurred Wednesday, we understand.
Mrs Bader is a widow lady and dependant to a considerable extent upon the work of her son and the terrible blow comes with double force upon her. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved mother and friends. The mortality from fooling with firearms does not decrease very perceptibly and boys should be careful when handling them. Better let them alone, altogether boys, until you get old enought to handle them properly.

John Boyd, an early settler of Rock County and a resident until 1900, committed suicide Friday, Nov 26 at University Place, Nebr, his place of residence3. Interment was made in Newport Cemetery. Services were held in M E Church and by the A O U W Lodge, of which organization he was a member. His untimely death is deplored by all and the sympathies of acquaintances are with his son, Charles of University Place and his daughter, Mrs Richard Ballenger of this place.

Mr and Mrs Joseph Bradshaw who live near Inez, lost their little boy Ivan Virgil, at the Alex Searl home in Atkinson, last Sunday night at 12 o'clock. They had brought him up from Inez for medical treatment and were stopping at the Searl residence. The little fellow was born August 4th and spent but a short life here and that full of suffering. The body was taken to Chambers, Tuesday, for burial, where the funeral services were also held.

Mrs Catherine Brenn, mother of Mrs C M Daly, of this city, died at her home in Fairbury, Nebr, last Friday. Mrs Daly, accompanied by her sons Norbert and Richard, went to Fairbury, Saturday and C M Daly went down Sunday to attend the funeral services which were held Monday morning.
Mrs Brenn has visited in O'Neill; her friends here will be grieved to learn of her death.
