This village was first settled in 1884. It is located on the line of the South Florida Railroad, 22 miles south of Orlando, the county seat. Kissimmee is the nearest bank, express and telegraph station, which is 4 miles north. Has a public school, Presbyterian, Baptist and Methodist church organizations.
