OBITUARIES
Fort Myers News-Press, September 1, 1935 - Bill Brumby,
34-year-old Naples workman, died at the Lee Memorial hospital last
night where he was rushed for treatment after he had fallen from a
logging truck and was crushed under the rear wheels. His chest was
caved in and his lungs were punctured by his ribs. He died without
regaining consciousness. Brumby was brought to the hospital from
Naples by Bill Strickland and Dr. W. H. Grace was called for
emergency treatment. Brumby had caught a ride on the logging truck
which was being driven through Naples by Jack Mills, also of Naples.
Mills told Police Officer Cale Jones that Brumby had evidently been
unseated by a jolt and fell directly under the heavy back wheels of
the truck. Brumby has recently been employed by the
Keewadin-in-Florida school at Naples as a caretaker. He is survived
by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Aldacosta Brumby who is visiting in
Miami. She was informed of his death last night and was enroute to
Fort myers to make funeral arrangements. The body was removed from
the Lee Memorial hospital to the Lawrence A. Powell funeral
home.***Fort Myers News-Press, Monday, September. 2, 1935 - Funeral
services for William McDuffy Brumby, 34-year-old Naples workman who
was killed Saturday when he fell beneath the wheels of a logging
truck, will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Lawrence A.
Powell funeral home on First street with the Rev. William Graham
Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Myers cemetery.
Brumby, apparently unseated by a jolt, fell under the rear wheels of
the truck on which he had caught a ride. He died at the hospital
without regaining consciousness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Margaret Aldacosta Brumby. Pallbearers will be Harry Lundquist,
Albert Surrency, Curtis Bostick, Dick Williams, Lorin metts and Joel
Metts.
Fort Myers News-Press, October 12, 1950 -
James Sesal Daniels, 51, a resident of Collier City, died suddenly
in Naples yesterday of a heart attack. He was delivering mail at the
time on his run from Collier City to Naples. Survivors include his
wife, Mrs. Ozela Daniels, two sons, George, who is now stationed in
Korea, and Wilmer, at Camp Hood, Calif.; two brothers, Guy Daniels
of Napales and Bill Daniels of Fort Myers; two sisters, Mrs. G. E.
Rawls of Collier City, and Mrs. Arthur Barron of Fort Myers. Funeral
arrangements will be announced later by the Leo W. Engelhardt
Funeral Home. Daniels was born on Aug. 24, 1899 in Key West. FORT
MYERS NEWS-PRESS - October 13, 1950 James Sesal Daniels, 51, of
Collier city, died suddenly in Naples Wednesday. He was born Aug.
24, 1899 in Key West and had been a resident of Collier City for the
past year. He had served as mail carrier between Naples and Collier
City for the past year. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ozela
Daniels; two sons, George in Korea and Wilmer in Camp Hood, Texas;
his father, Henry Daniels of Fort Myers, two brothers Guy of Naples
and Bill of Fort Myers, two sisters, Mrs. G. E. Rawls of Collier
City and Mrs. Arthur Barron of Fort Myers. Funeral arrangements are
in charge of Leo W. Engelhardt Funeral Home. (Fort Myers Cemetery)
