Greenbush Young Man Is Crushed To Death
Loses His Life Instantly When Tractor Falls
Oscar L. Raeder Is Instantly Killed At Roadside
Machine Capsized
Trivial Cause Contributes to Death of Highly Regarded Young Farmer -- Driving Heavy Motor at Roadside, Wheel Strikes Stone, Which Causes Overbalancing -- Driver Falls Under Machine
A farm tractor crushed out the life of Oscar L. Raeder, 24-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Raeder of the town of Greenbush, at 7:15 o'clock Wednesday night when it turned over on the Krumrey road east of Plymouth.
Mr. Raeder was taking the tractor to his brother's farm in the town of Sheboygan Falls at the time, and was traveling at the side of the road to avoid the hard pavement when the front wheels struck a stone and were deflected in such a manner as to cause the machine to lose its equilibrium and turn over.
He was instantly killed when the steering wheel and engine crushed his chest. A boy residing nearby witnessed the accident and sent out the alarm. Fred Schreiber and Henry Schoenfeld, living nearest to the scene of the accident, rushed to his assistance, but were unable to do anything to save his life. They notified a Plymouth physician who was summoned. The body was removed to Wittkopp Undertaking parlors.
Coroner Van Zanten made an examination of the circumstances surrounding the accident this morning and came to the conclusion that death was accidental and that no inquest was necessary.
Mr. Raeder was born in the town of Greenbush on August 24, 1897. Besides his parents he is survived by four brothers, Fred, of Sheboygan Falls; Herman, Milton and John at home; Mrs. Otto Ebenretter of Plymouth; Miss Clara Raeder of Sheboygan, and Miss Laura at home.

A bride in June, a corpse in December, 'ere the novelty of the honeymoon had scarcely worn away, Marie Murphy Reiss paid the penalty that is allotted to all human beings, some are more fortunate in having the span of life cover more years, but their daily trials and tribulations also are of longer duration: so that if this young lady was not blessed with years, she was spared the mortal torments that life is heir to and that numerous years are always attended with. Now she sleeps the sleep of the Just and we hope a bright and celestial home is the reward that will be accorded to her in exchange for the short life she was allowed in this mortal sphere.
Deceased was born in the town of Lima twenty four years ago last March and when quite young came to the town of Plymouth where she has resided until last June when she became the wife of John Reiss. Her early education was received in Plymouth at the St. John's Parochial school, then she attended the high school, from which she graduated with the class of 1913, and since has taught school successfully in different parts of Sheboygan county.
Her demise occurred last Sunday morning at an early hour after a short week's illness with Spanish influenza from which her husband was also a sufferer at the same time, and by whom she is survived together with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Peter Murphy of the town of Plymouth, one sister, Mrs. E.H. Puhr of Highmore, S.D., and three brothers Thomas of the town of Mitchell, Dr. G.H. Murphy of Athens and John of the town of Plymouth. The funeral occurred Tuesday from her late home in the town of Mitchell and St. John's Catholic church where services were held at nine thirty o'clock, from where the funeral cortege proceeded to the Catholic cemetery where the earthly remains were consigned to mother earth from which there is no awakening until the Judgement day. The pall bearers were: Henry Riordan, Emmet Cosgrove, Christ Baker, Dennis Prindeville, Frank Gannon and Leo Hanlon. To the bereaved husband and relatives the sympathy is extended by their friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Royce, living on the Benj. Ford farm in the town of Lyndon {Sheboygan county}, were called upon to part with their baby boy, Elwin, last Saturday.
The little child was but eleven weeks old and had been sick for about four weeks with whooping cough. The infant was unable to bear up under the severe strain of the continued coughing and the muscles around the heart finally became exhausted and the little one's sufferings were relieved.

Rice, Miss Ella Saemann and I.L. Jones.
The interment was made in the Winooski cemetery. Here the scene was very beautiful. The casket was lowered into the vault prepared especially for the same. Another of Sheboygan county's worthy pioneer residents has ceased his daily toil and passed to the Great Beyond. This community was shocked last Tuesday afternoon when the news was heard of the sudden death of Wm. Roehrborn, due to a stroke of paralysis which he suffered the previous evening after having performed his usual day's work and attended church the day before in the best of health. Deceased who was a native of Bibra, Saxony, was born March 30, 1836 and when twelve years old came to America with his parents, who immediately settled in this township, felled the forest and developed a productive farm, which was turned over to him at their death. Mr. Roehrborn was always known as one of our substantial farmers, a frugal and peaceable citizen, a kind friend, a fond husband and father and his taking away is universally deplored. As a neighbor he was ever accommodating and as a man, genial and honorable. He was a veteran of the Civil war, serving in the Ninth Wisconsin regiment of volunteers for a period of three years. He was united in marriage to Miss Johanna Doebert in 1867. Their union was blessed with a family of seven children who are all living as follows: Willie, Henry, Mary and Helena, residing at home; Christoph and Mrs. Frank Bock, also of this town; Mrs. Henry F. rammer and Mrs. Will Yankow of Sheboygan.
