In the Name of God Amen I Dennis Conaway of the Parish of St. Stevens and County of Northumberld being sick in body but of perfect sense and memory thanks be to God doe make publish & declare this to be my Last Will in manner following ffirst I bequeath my Soule to God that gave it in full assurance of a Joyfull resurrection at the last to attain Everlasting Salvation by the merritorious Death and passion of our blessed Lord and Savior Christ Jesus by whome I Expect full remission of my Sins; Secondly I bequeath my body to the Earth with a Decent buriall at the Discretion of my Exor as for what worldly Estate the Lord hath been pleased to bestow on me.



I Give and dispose thereof as followeth I give and bequeath to my two Sons Dennis & Thomas all that parecell of Land called ye Long Neck with what Land is on that side the Swamp to be Equally Divided To have and to hold the same to them and Each of them and the heirs of Each of their bodies Lawfully begotten and if either dies without such to the Survivor and his heirs Lawfully begotten and if both die without such to the next heirs att Law.



Item I Give and bequeath to my two Sons John & Lazarus all that parcell of Land called Howards Neck bounded on a Swamp on the one side that divides this and the last menconed premisses & on another side on a Swamp on which is a Bridge which Divides the said Howards Neck & the land whereon I now Live to have and to hold said Land to my siad Sons John & Lazarus to be Equally divided, these to them and Each of them and the heirs of Each of their bodies lawfully begotten and if he die without such to the next heirs at Law.



Item I give and bequeath to my two sons Christopher & James all the rest and residue of my Land bounded on the aforesaid Bridge Swamp that divides this land and the last bequeathed premisses to be equally divided between them my said Sons by the rest of their brothers when my said Son James shall attain to the age of Eighteen years to have and to hold the same to them and each of their said heirs lawfully begotten by their bodies and for want of such to the Survivor and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such to the next heire at Law Provided nevertheless that my two daughters Elizabeth & Winifred have free liberty & egress to hold and enjoy my now dwelling house during their and each of their Maiden lives with liberty to worke such Servts. on the said Plantacon & Land as they or Each of them shall have during their said Maiden lives and that it is hereby my Will and desire that none of my sd. Sons sell any of their Land to any person whatsoever but to one of their Brothers.





Item I Give to my Daughter Elizabeth the bed I finally ly on with a Suit of Red Curtains and Valence and all Compleate furniture.

I give to my Daughter Winifred my next best ffeather bed with Yellow Curtains & Valance & all Compleate ffurniture.

Item my next best bed and furniture as aforesd. I Give and bequeath to my Son James.

Item the feather bed and ffurniture that stands in the Kitchen I Give to my Son Christopher.

Item I give to my Son Thomas one iron pott.

Item I give my Son John one ffeather bedd rugg & blankett the which his Sisters now lye on.

Item I Give to my Sons John Thomas & Lazarus -- each of them a Cow and Calfe & to John & Lazarus each of them an Iron pott.

Item I give to my Son John my Long Gun and a brass kettle now in his possession.

Item I give to Thomas & Lazarus to each of them two pewter dishes & halfe a doz. of spoons.

Item my Will is that my Long Table forme, Cupboard & what is thereon the couch and six chairs be and remain where they now are & for the benefitt of the possessor of my dwelling house.

Item I give the chest above stairs with a case of Pistolls & holsters and cimitor to my Son James being those I bought of Mr. Eyes.

Item. I give my other Case of Pistolls and Holsters to my Son Christopher.

I Will and desire that my Servts. be kept together on my now dwelling Plantacon under ye managment of my Son Christopher & Son James & my Daughters Elizabeth & Winifred with the Cropp now on the ground or in the house on the sd Plantacon & that my said Son James be by his brother Christopher kept two years to school after my decease.

Item I give to my daughter Winifred one small Limbeck(?) and all the rest of my Estate I give to be Equally divided between my Sons Christopher & James & my sd. two daughters save only to Winifred a Trunk & to Christopher, Lazarus & Elizabeth a Chest to each of them and a Trunk to Elizabeth.

Item I appoint constitute and ordain my two sons John & Christopher executors of this my last Will and Testament

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this 16th day of September 1708.

Also I give Winifred my Daughter my pasing horse and for as much as I have given Christopher one already it is my will that in the division of the horses the other parts be made Equall.
