Lindsay G. Collins went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 29, 2021.
He was a dedicated veteran who served in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Collins; granddaughter, Elisha Quintrell, and parents, Posey Collins and Eva Funk Collins.
Surviving are his children, Lindsay G. Collins, Jr., Eva Dawn Marshall, and Debbie Crook; grandchildren, April Furrow, Amanda Roe, Lacy Collins, Lindsey Crook, Julie Davison, Billy Davison, Anenia Howell, and Zachery Howell. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and his precious fur baby, Izzy. Lindsay was blessed with five generations, many other family, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in the Crossroads Union Chapel Cemetery, Copper Hill. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel.

 

Ruth Allen Collins, 69, of Copper Hill, passed away February 29, 2004 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Lindsay G. Collins of Copper Hill; a son, Lindsay Collins Jr. of Christiansburg; two daughters and their husbands, Eva Dawn and Frankie Howell of Christiansburg, and Deborah and Ricky Crook of Fork Mt., Rocky Mount; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Annie and Robert Martin of Copper Hill; four brothers, J.D. and Shirley Allen of Copper Hill, Woodrow Allen of Wirtz, Alton L. Allen and Dalton D. Allen, both of Copper Hill. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at the Crossroads Holiness Church with Rev. John Early and Rev. Jube Burke officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Crossroads Holiness Church in Copper Hill. Arrangements by Wood Funeral Home in Floyd.
