Born Nov. 2, 1905, in Floyd County, Va., he was a son of the late Wilmer Lee and Lucy Dangerfield Iddings. He had been a former member of the Crumpler United Methodist Church for more than 40 years and was currently an active member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church for the past 11 years. He was a member of the Methodist Men and the Men's Bible Sunday School Class. He was a retired coal miner, having worked for the United Pocahontas Coal Company for almost 50 years and was a member of the Local Union 6033. In addition to his parents, a sister, Madge lddings Cunningham; and four brothers, Weldon, Kenneth, Warren, and Harold lddings preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Rennie Bailey Iddings of the home; one sister, Thelma lddings McCarthy of Arlington, Va.; three special nephews, Randy Bailey of Bluefield, Richard Bailey of Crumpler, and Kester (Bud) Bailey of Rock; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bluewell United Methodist Church in Bluewell with Dr. Robert Stoddard and the Rev. D. Homer Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Kester (Bud) Bailey, Harold Bailey, lan Bailey, Kenny Bailey, Lewis Jones, Tommy Otey, Bob Honaker, and Ed Poff will serve as pallbearers. Other nephews and members of the Men's Bible Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends may call today from 6-8 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, and at the church on Saturday morning one hour prior to services.
