Dudley DeHart, 82, of 438 Rockwood Park Road, Bassett, died Tuesday, Dec. 22,
2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was
born Jan. 15, 1927, in the Henry community to John Clenard DeHart and Fannie
Pearl Stone DeHart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his wife, Gladys Moore DeHart; a son, Mark Daniel DeHart; and a brother, John
C. DeHart Jr. He
retired from DuPont as a supervisor after working there for 38 years. He was
a member of the Oak Level Ruritan Club, a past member of the Collinsville
Exchange Club and a past volunteer with the Collinsville Fire Department. He was
a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church. Surviving
are a daughter, Deana DeHart of Bassett; a son, Michael D. DeHart of Roaring
Gap, N.C.; a sister, Raynelle Peters of Henry; a brother, Jimmy DeHart of
Henry; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The
funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fort Trial Baptist Church with Dr. Joey
McNeill officiating. Burial will be in the Hartland Cemetery in Bassett. The
family will receive friends from noon until time for the service Saturday at
the church. Memorials

SR. James Edward James (Jimmie) Edward DeHart Sr., 82, of Henry Road, Henry,
Va. passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016. He was
born on September 1, 1933 in Franklin County, Va. to the late Fannie Stone
DeHart and John Clenard DeHart, Sr. In
addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Edward
"Eddie" DeHart, Jr.; brothers, John C. DeHart, Jr. and Henry D.
DeHart. Mr.
DeHart was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and served in the United
States Army and worked at Blue Ridge Talc in Henry, Va. for over forty three
years. He also worked as a mechanic, enjoyed antique automobile restoration,
attending car shows, racing, fishing and gardening. He also had a love for
music, working puzzles and the outdoors. He is
survived by his wife, Mary Frances Haynes DeHart of the home; daughter,
Sharon DeHart Thurman and her husband, Larry Thurman; grandchildren, Adam
Thurman and Brie Thurman all of Martinsville; sister, Raynelle D. Peters of
Henry, Va.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his longtime
companion, Bentley the dog. The
funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Mill
Creek Baptist Church in Henry, Va. with Dr. Brian Goard officiating.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Mill
Creek Baptist Church and other times at the home. Burial will follow the
service at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials

MOUNT -- Bobby C. Dehart, 71, of Rocky Mount, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002. He was
born on July 27, 1931, a son of the late Clyde W. Dehart and Myrtle Stone
Dehart. He also was preceded in death by twin daughters and a sister, Linda
Morris. He was
retired from American Furniture Company in Martinsville. Surviving
are his wife, Shirley Dehart; one son, William Jeffrey Dehart of Franklin
County; a daughter, Susan Belcher of Franklin County; four brothers, James G.
Dehart of Franklin County, Letcher Dehart of Collinsville, Billy Dehart of
Ridgeway and Richard Dehart of Collinsville; three sisters, Lovelene Wade of
Martinsville, Marie Cook of Eden, N.C., and Jean Ball of Collinsville; one
grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The
funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Flora Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, with
Elder W. Lane Carter officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Park. Memorials

accident. A
memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, at Fair
Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danview Cemetery. Mrs.
Brooks was born July 4, 1933 in Leaksville, NC, daughter of the late Grant
Owen and Irene Light DeHart. She was a member of Osborne Baptist Church;
however, she grew up as part of Riverview Presbyterian Church. She was
part-owner of A & B Pest Control. Surviving
are her husband, Gene Brooks of the home; son, Johnny Laws; daughter, Debbie
Laws Kallam and husband, Jeff; step-son, Courtland Brooks and wife, June;
grandchildren, Bradley Brooks Laws and wife, Liz, Brooklyn Odell Burroughs
and husband, Ryan, Courtland Brooks, Jr. and wife, Crystal, and Angela Marsh

rites for Clyde S. DeHart, 72, of Crab Orchard, will be conducted at 2
p.m. Sunday in Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. L. A. Garten
officiating. Burial
will follow in the Calfee Cemetery at MountTabor. Friends may call at the
funeral home between 6 and 9 p.m. today. Pallbearers
will be Jimmy Beckett, Raymond Beckett, Dorsey Foster, Thomas

relatives in Stoneville, N. C. Saturday evening. DeHart reportedly went alone
to visit with a cousin in Eden, N. C. He left Eden around 6:30 p.m. to
return to Stoneville. Sunday morning, Nov. 10, his body was found in the
back seat of his burned car in a wooded area near Martinsville, Va.
The case is still under investigation, but police indicated foul play is
involved. DeHart
was born in Beckley, July 30, 1902, a son of the late E. B. and Roxie
Ann Christian DeHart. He was
a carpenter for Quality Lumber Co. and had been a life time resident of
Raleigh County. Survivors
include his widow, Mrs. Blanche Riddle DeHart; two daughters, Mrs. W. E.
(Patricia) Brammer of Prosperity, and Mrs. J. E. (Betty) Sublett of
Baltimore, Md.; three sons, Bernard Edward of Old Eccles Road, James of
Melbourne, Fla., McRay of Mundelien, Ill.; Five sisters, Mrs. Ay LeBleu
of St. Albans, Mrs. Billie Abrams of Beckley, Mrs. Evelyn Hodge of
Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Wirtie Hall of Christiansburg, Va., Mrs. Mamie
Brammer of Buchannan, Va.; two brothers, Hershel of Aiken, S.
C., Clarence of Richmond, Va.; 13 grandchildren and two

was born on Friday, September 29, 1933, in Altavista. He
