of Steelsburg, VA passed away Saturday February 2, 2012 at Clinch Valley Medical
Center in Richlands, VA after a period of declining health. Otis was born on
January 4, 1920, the son of the late Robert H. and Susie M. Abel. He was a
lifelong resident of the Steelsburg Community. He was a veteran of World War
II, serving his country in England and Germany. Otis was known throughout the
area as a master auto body craftsman. Working at this craft until his
retirement. After Retirement he enjoyed working in his garden and his
flowers. His greatest delight was sharing his crop with his many close
neighbors. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, finding great enjoyment
hunting with his son for many years. He was a member of the Steelsburg United
