Dalton, Radford; two daughters, Maywood Reece and June Quesenberry,
both of Indian Valley; one brother and four sisters-in-law, Donald and
Daphnia Turman, Norfolk, Winnie Turman and Clydie Quesenberry, both of Indian Valley, Lula Dalton,
Bluefield, W.Va.; three sisters and one brother -in-law, Sophia and J.R.
Turpin, Indian Valley, Maudie Turman, Dugspur,
Annie Dalton, Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight
great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 6, 1995, at 2 p.m. at
the Indian Valley Church of God with the Rev. Kenneth Poston and Elder Jay

2014 Floyd Press (src: GenealogyBank.com ) Eunice Spicer Dickerson, 61, peacefully
went to be with the Lord from her home surrounded by her loving family after
fighting a peaceful battle with cancer on Thursday, October 2, 2014. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lois Spicer; sister, Mary Devota Spicer; son, Michael John Dickerson;and
father-in-law, Dexter Dickerson. Eunice taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade for 22
years with Floyd County Public Schools and was known as Mrs. D to her
students. She was a member and contributed a lot of work to the Retired
Teachers Association and the Homemaker's Club. She enjoyed working with 4-H
and the FCHS band. She was a member of the Riner Grace Brethren Church.
Eunice embraced everyone she met and never knew a stranger. She loved
spending time with family and friends. |

at 8:55 p.m. in a Princeton hospital. He was a native of Floyd County, VA., and was a member of Pisgah
Methodist Church. He was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Amy Kirby Dickerson; four daughters,
Mrs. C.C. Moore of Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. H.R. Baker of Fort Pierce, Fla.,
Mrs. Ted Farley of Crab Orchard and Mrs. Betty Peltier of Dearborn, Mich.;
four sons, Jason Dickerson of Milan, Mich., and Paul, Carl and George
Dickerson Jr. of Princeton; 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren;
one sister, Mrs. Lillion Lope of Portsmouth, Ohio. The body was taken to Memorial Funeral Directory of Princeton.

daughter, Evalane Hardin, Willis; three sons and daughters-in-law, John
B. and Freida Dickerson, La Platta, Md., Elwood and
Iris Dickerson, La Platta, Md., Ansel F. and Naydene Dickerson, Mechansville;
one daughter-in-law, Mildred C.
Dickerson, Galax; five grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 25,
1994, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville

She was a contract driver for 23 years for the U. S. Postal Service. Survivors include

Roanoke; her father, Okie Janney of Roanoke; her mother, Shirley Janney of
Goodview; five brothers, Michael Janney, Howard Janney, Richard Janney, Homer
Janney and Kevin Janney, all of Roanoke; two sisters, Diane Martin and Geneva
Janney, both of Roanoke; special friends, Barbara and Leon Lionberry, Dot and
Woody Allen; her special companions, Tippy and Jackie; also several nieces
and nephews. Funeral services
will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at Oakey's South Chapel
with the Rev. James Moran officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan's
Chapel Cemetery in Alum Ridge, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to
9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home. Oakey's South Chapel is in

School. He was a professional truck driver, and he had a passion for beef
cattle farming. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Inez Rampey
Duncan; his parents, James Everett "Ebb" Duncan and Annie Lera
Underwood Duncan; his grandson, James Matthew McPeak; his brother, Wesley
Everett Duncan; and his sisters, Martha Ellen Radford and Evelyn Vera Saul. |

Ancel Duncan, age 41, died Sunday, July 28, 1991, in a local hospital. He was
a member of the Presbyterian Church of Radford. He had served his country in
the Army National Guard and was a basketball official in the Virginia High
School League. He is survived by
his wife, Diana Lynn Duncan, Radford; one daughter, Stephanie Michelle
Duncan, Christiansburg; one sister, Hilda Burnette, Floyd; a special sister-in-law,
Sarah Jane Simpkins, Radford. Funeral services
will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Indian Valley Pentecostal Holiness
Church with the Rev. George Ducker and the Rev. Gene Bishop officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church
Tuesday evening where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00.
Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no
visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations
be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Roanoke, Va. |

2000 Roanoke Times DUNCAN, Lucille Akers, 81, of Willis, passed away
Sunday, November 5, 2000 at New River Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chymer and
Lena Akers; her husband, Marvin C. Duncan; and a daughter, Ruth Ann Duncan. Survivors include six daughters, Betty L. Henry,
Lucy M. Duncan, Shirley J. Duncan, Willis, Nancy D. White, Blacksburg, Vera
E. Beckner, Christiansburg, Barbara D. Womack, Shawsville; one son, James M.
Duncan, Willis; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Posey Weeks, Floyd;
brother and sister-in-law, J. T. and Lucille Akers, Stuart; eight
grandchildren, Minnie L. Henry, Melanie L. Henry, Sandy Marshall, David
Beckner, Todd Beckner, Pam Beckner, Jennifer Womack, Ashley Womack; two
great-grandchildren, Seth Marshall, Jimmi Rose; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the
Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd with Rev. Roy Turpin and Rev. Harold Cox
officiating. Burial will be in Indian Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church
Cemetery. Friends may call at the Maberry Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Tuesday where
the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. |

1991 Roanoke Times Marvin Clifford Duncan, 76, died Thursday, March 7,
1991, at Radford Community Hospital. He was a World War II veteran and a
retired carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Akers Duncan;
one son, James M. Duncan, Willis; six daughters, Betty Henry, Hiwassee; Nancy
White, Blacksburg; Vera Beckner, Pulaski; Lucy Duncan, and Shirley Duncan,
both of Willis; Barbara Harvey, Christiansburg; one sister, Edith D. Cox, Riner;
eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the
Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Turpin and the Rev. Harold Cox
officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday at
the Maberry Funeral Home. |
