Edward Heard was the son of Grant Heard who was born February 28,
1889 in Mississippi. Grant's father's name was Walter Heard (June 3,
1871, Mississippi - October 5, 1931 Needville, Fort Bend County,
Texas He was buried at
Shiloh Cemetery, Boling, Wharton County, Texas.
Edward's mother, Minnie Davenport Heard, was born
July 11, 1897 in Texas and died February 23, 1982 in Palacios,
Matagorda County, Texas. She, also, was buried at
Shiloh Cemetery, Boling, Wharton County, Texas.

 Funeral services for Edward Heard, 79, of Bay
City, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2003, at Bethel
Baptist Church in Bay City, with the Rev. L.C. Cunningham, Jr.,
eulogist.
Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 until 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home
chapel.
He was born November 23, 1923, and passed away November 8, 2003, in
Bay City.
Heard was chairman of the deacon board of Bethel Baptist Church. He
also served there faithfully in other capacities. He retired as
custodian with Bay City I.S.D.
Afterward, he was employed with Wal-Mart in Bay City.
Survivors include: one sister, Cora Waddy; one brother, Kelly Heard;
a devoted friend, Vivian Ray; and a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.

Elsie Davis Heard
Funeral services for Elsie Heard, 77, of Bay
City, will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at 11 a. m., at Bethel
Baptist Church, Bay City, with the Rev. L. C. Cunningham, Jr.
eulogist. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Bay City.
Visitation will be Friday until 9 p. m. in the chapel of
Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.
She was born in Peters, Texas, Saturday, Jan. 21,
1922, to Dock Davis and Fletcher Long Davis, and passed away
Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at her residence in Bay City.
Survivors include: her husband, Edward Heard; and
one son, Edward Darvin Heard of Bay City. Also two sisters, Martha
Williams of Bay City and Doris Heard of Palacios; and two brothers,
Paul Penrice (& Eleanor) of New Gulf, and Earnest Davis (& Eva) of
Bay City. Also: one aunt, Robertha Gaines; and one uncle, Huey Long;
and a host of other relatives and friends.
Servicing as active pallbearers will be Johnnie
Heard, James Heard, James Smith, Roland Waddy, Daryl Pace and Harry
Sauceda.

 Funeral services for Edward Darwin Heard, 48, of
Bay City, will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Bethel
Church in Bay City, with the Rev. L. C. Cunningham, Jr. eulogist.
Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Bay City.
He was born in Bay City, Saturday, February 14, 1953, to Edward
Heard and Elsie Davis Heard, and passed away Wednesday, April 25,
2001. He was a 1971 graduate of Bay City High School, and also TSTI
College in Waco, Texas.
Survivors include; father, Edward Heard of Bay City; four aunts,
Liddy Mayberry, Corell Waddy, Martha Williams and Doris Heard; four
uncles, Kelly Heard, Mackie Heard, Ernest Davis and Paul Penrice;
two great-aunts, Odessa Davenport and Roberta Gaines; one
great-uncle, Huey Long; also a host of cousins, and other relatives
and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Elsie Heard on December 14,
1999.
Active pallbearers will be Roland Waddy, Harry Sauceda, Johnnie
Heard, James Heard, James Smith, Edmond Williams, Charles Brown and
Daryl Pace.
