Invite your family and friends to keep

our annual Collegeport Day tradition.

2015 Marks the Collegeport Community’s 107th YEAR

Dear friends of Collegeport,

We cordially invite you and your family to join in celebrating Collegeport Day on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Mopac House.    Our traditional BBQ dinner will begin at 12:00 noon.  Please bring side dishes and desserts to complete the meal.

Collegeport Day is the longest-standing annual celebration in Matagorda County.  This commemoration of the community’s founding has been observed every year since 1908.

Barbecue preparations begin mid-afternoon on Friday and continue until dinnertime on Saturday.  Come and experience this tradition as well!

Volunteers who assist with set-up of tables and chairs on Saturday morning, and with clean-up after dinner, are GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Contributions to the barbecue fund, or for other needs, make it possible to continue this community tradition.  Additionally, your support of the Mopac House Foundation enables this board to carry out its mission of maintaining the Mopac House and grounds for the use and benefit of the community.  The generosity of all who give financial support, as well as those who give of time and talents, make all of this possible.

We extend a grateful “THANK YOU” to all supporters.

Post cards notify those for whom we have no e-mail address.  Please share this information with all of your family and friends interested in attending and/or being involved.

In lieu of a formal newsletter, please search the following link to the Collegeport Home Page:

Please e-mail photos or other information you wish to include in this year’s slideshow.  We will scan any photos or documents that you bring with you to share on Collegeport Day.

We’re looking forward to seeing you on Collegeport Day!
