The Arlington Hotel Mr. M. L. Levy was the manager The
Arlington Hotel was located on Coleman St., Marlin, Falls Co., Texas. When
built it was 3 stories of pressed brick. It had all the latest modern
equipments including its own electric light plant, ice plant, telephone
service and electric elevator. It also had a barber shop, billiard room,
reading and writing parlors. It was also connected to the Marlin Sanitarium by
an underground passageway so that guests could go from their rooms to their
bath without being exposed to the air. |

The Marlin Sanitarium Bath House The
Sanitarium Bath House was located on Coleman St., Marlin, Falls Co., Texas.
The first floor had offices, parlors, reading rooms, cooling rooms, and
various baths given from Marlin's hot water, such as Sprays, Needle, Shower,
Vagor Massage. The tubs were all porcelain and seperate tubs and laundry were
used for chronic blood and skin diseases. |

The
Imperial Bath House and Sanitarium was a 3 story brick building of modern
conveniences. It was provided with X-Ray Apparatus, Static and Electric
Machines, Operating Rooms. It also had the Electric Light Cabinet, with
violent rays and its Therapeuties, which was said to cure Tumors, Eczema,
Blood and Skin Diseases, Gonorrhoea, Sciatica and Gonorrhoea Rheumatism, and
many other diseases. Dr. J. W. Cook was the pioneer physician to recommend
Marlin Hot Water for the cure of chronic diseases. |

Texas. It as said that this was one of the cleanest, neatest, and most orderly
Boarding Houses in Marlin. |

Dr. S. P. Rice InfirmaryDr.
S. P. Rice Infirmary was located on Winter St., Marlin, Falls Co., Texas. The
Infirmary had private rooms and the ensemble was lighted and ventilated to the
requirement of the most disabled infirm. The operating rooms were equiped with
all the latest electrical apparatuses. The view of Dr. Rice's Infirmary from a
scientific and medical standpoint showed to be first class in every respect. |

Mrs. E. J. Smith’s Boarding House
Mrs. E. J. Smith's Boarding House was located on Ward St., Marlin, Falls Co.,
Texas. This Boarding House occupied a prominent place among the better class
of Boarding houses of Marlin. The Smith House contained a number of rooms all
nicely and most comfortably furnished, well lighted and a cool and pleasant
location for the summer. It was conducted on the American plan, and the table
fare was of uniform excellence, the sursine and service so that the fame of
the Smith House was a first class provider and had extended far and wide. Mrs.
Smith was very popular with her guests as well as in the social circles of
Marlin. |

The Dupuy Boarding HouseThe
Dupuy Boarding House was very centrally located on Coleman St., Marlin, Falls
Co., Texas in the heart of the city. It had all the up to date modern
equipment and furnishings of a Boarding House. It was completely surrounded by
large porches, so that guests would find there every convenience and
accommodations. The Dupuy House was one of those comfortable places which shed
the contentment of "Home Sweet Home" over all. |

Majestick Hotel The
Majestic Hotel was one of the leading hotels of Marlin, and it occupied a
prominent place among the better class of hotels throughout the state. The
hotel was conveniently situated in the business center of Marlin, near all
railroad lines entering the city, opposite the famous artesian hot well. It
had many rooms in which many were in suite. |

Marlin National Bank was established in 1900. The Bank had a capital of
$50,000.00, surplus of $25,000.00, deposits of $212,534.69 and resources of
over three hundred thousand dollars, according to statement of February 5,
1909. |

Live Oak St., Marlin, Falls Co., Texas. The establishment of McKinney and
Woodland was an ideal institution, and was known as the "Quality Store". It
was equipped with every modern appliance and convenience in the way of
fixtures, while the stock was attractively displayed, which included high
class staple and fancy groceries, table delicacies of every descripton, teas,
coffees, country produce, fruits, etc. |

Oak St., Marlin, Falls Co., Texas. Arthur Threadgill was a Manufacturing
Jeweler. He established his business in 1888. The store occupied one of the
most prominent and conspicuous sites in the city. Those that were familiar
with the jewelry trade admit that there are few stores in the South which
carried a finer line or more costly stock. They not only carried rare gems,
but also watches, sterling silver, cut glass. |

Renfro Martin Drug Company was located on Live Oak St., Marlin, Falls Co.,
Texas. The stock was very large and arranged to the best advantage, comprising
a full assortment of pure drugs and chemicals, all medicine of the standard
reputation, tiolet articles, perfumes, sundries, and fine stationery. This
establishment made a specialty of prescriptions, and they compounded with the
greatest care and accuracy, and extreme care was taken to avoid mistakes. |
