Harold R. Ladd, 86, of Ossian, Indiana and former resident of Willshire, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Adams Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. His death was unexpected. He was born on Thursday, September 18, 1930 in Delphos, Ohio the son of the late Melvin Ladd and the late Loa (Matson) Ladd. He married Marcia M. Stopher on June 19, 1966 in Delphos, Ohio and she survives after 51 years of marriage! Harold was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a self - employed barber in Willshire, Ohio for ten years until he sold the business and joined his wife in the operation of the Village Restaurant in Willshire. They operated the business together for 15 years before selling it. Following the sale of the restaurant, Harold and Marcia moved to Fort Wayne and he became a maintenance man for Embassy Apartments. Harold attended the Zanesville United Brethren Church. He was a lifetime member of the Delphos VFW Post 3035 and American Legion Post #268. During his time in the VFW, Harold was the District #2 Commander. Survivors include his wife, Marcia M. Ladd of Ossian, IN; daughter, Carla (Wally) Mesing of Decatur, IN; two grandsons, Mark Mesing & Paul (fiancee, Sara Williamson) Mesing, & brother, Gerald (Shirley) Ladd of Landeck, OH. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Giesken; Louise Lear; & Delores Peters; & two brothers, Earl Ladd and Carl "Cocky" Ladd. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2017 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Rev. Mark Rutledge & Rev. Tom Datema officiating. Interment will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos, Ohio. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 & 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, August 20 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur & one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Adams County 4 - H or the Willshire Community Park.

Ellen G. Smitley, 83, of 721 Glenn St., died at 6:35 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2000, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home, after a short illness. She was born September 30, 1916, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Clarence B. and Roxy E. (Garrison) Couts. On July 7, 1934, in Columbia City, Ind., she married Robert A. Smitley, who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1990. Mrs. Smitley was a homemaker who was very devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and church. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert and a 1934 graduate of York High School. She is survived by a son, Donald (Candy) Smitley of Van Wert; three daughters, Roxanna (Roger) Beougher of Santee, S.C., Brenda (David) Welker of Tybee Island, Ga., and Rebecca (James) Mumma of Van Wert; a brother, Clarence Couts of Ohio City; two sisters, Florence East of Debary, Fla., and Winifred Fowler of Lima; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Tim B. Zectel officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association or to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert.

Wayne L. Scherry, 70, of Convoy, Ohio passed away Wednesday evening, January 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born on January 11, 1949 in Allen County, Indiana to the late Harold W. Scherry and Dorothy I. (Strahm) Scherry. He married Kimberly R. Clifton on June 27, 1998 in Van Wert, Ohio. Wayne served his country in the United States Air Force during Viet Nam. He attended The Bridge Community Church in Decatur. Wayne retired as a quality engineer having worked for several different firms. He loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's events. He was an avid knife collector and a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan. Wayne loved Star Wars, Grinch, and Polar Express and passed this love along to his children and grandchildren. He was also a FORD man. He is survived by his wife, Kim Scherry of Convoy, OH; mother, Dorothy Scherry of Decatur, IN; daughter, Alison (Craig) Yoder of Berne, IN; two sons, Ben Scherry and Joel Scherry both of Decatur, IN; step-daughter, Annie (Brian) Brecht of Van Wert, OH; step-son, Jason (Kacee) Kreischer of Scott, OH; and sister, Karen (Harold) Rumschlag of Fort Wayne, IN. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Avery (Calvin) Conant, Keagan Yoder, Kamden Yoder, Kennedy Scherry, Reese Scherry, Addison Yoder, Brock Scherry, Bristol Scherry; and five step-grandchildren, Braden Brecht, Lauren Brecht, Brody Brecht, Claire Kreischer, & Paislee Kreischer. She was born on February 13, 1943, in Berne, Indiana to the late Ralph Eugene Clifton and to the late Betty Eileen (Byer) Clifton. Sherry attended Union United Methodist Church in rural Decatur and was employed for 18 years at Nowak's Auction in Willshire. Prior to that, she worked at Dick Byer's Auction Barn also in Willshire. She was an animal lover, especially dogs. She was generous, loving and always helping others. She enjoyed flea marketing, flowers and gardening. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela J. Bricker of Van Wert, Ohio, and Lynnette Fisher of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Rick Fisher of Willshire, Ohio; sister, Vicki (Michael) Bregenzer of Grabill, Indiana; brother, Brent (Vicki) Clifton of Grabill, Indiana; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Mildred Marie Clifton. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019, at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Bud Larimore officiating. Duane D. Clifton, 93, of Willshire, Ohio passed away Sunday morning, December 22, 2019, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Duane was born on March 22, 1926 in Van Wert County, Ohio to Benjamin Harrison and Jennie M. (Culbertson) Clifton. He married Edith M. Boice on March 20, 1948 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Duane served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the United Brethren Church in Wren, Ohio and was attending Union United Methodist Church in rural Decatur. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #5713 of Celina, Ohio. Duane was a 1944 graduate of Wren High School. He retired in 1986 from Van Wert County Highway Department with six years of service and prior to that was employed at Chrysler Amplex in Van Wert, Ohio. He was also a longtime Van Wert County farmer. He loved to travel and enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Edith Clifton and son, David D. Clifton both of Willshire, Ohio and two grandchildren, Julie (Doug) Hadaway and Mary (Brandon) Beneke. Duane's daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Alan Dannenfelser also passed away as a result of the same accident. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Sharpe and Ruth Ann Brake; and four brothers, Carl, Ralph, Floyd and Rex Clifton. She was born Jan. 7, 1916, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Robert and Cecelia (Tumbleson) Conn. On Nov. 27, 1948, in Van Wert, she married Melville E. Brown, who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2000. Mrs. Brown was retired from General Telephone Co. as a telephone operator and supervisor. She attended First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and was a member of the Van Wert Elks Lodge. She is survived by a sister, Lois Wood, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Norman Conn and a sister, Jeanette Walters. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Allspach-Dearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert. Franklin D. Clutter, 69, of Rockford, died at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 28, 2002, at his residence. He was born April 10, 1933. in Dublin Township, Rockford, to Samual A. and Lela M. (McClintock) Clutter. On May 31, 1953. he married Lois Elaine Custer and she survives. Also surviving are a son and his wife, James and Corrie, and two sons, Nathan and Neil D" all of Rockford; two brothers and their wives, Dale and June of Rockford and Raymond and Evelyn of Celina; two sisters and their husbands, Jane and Roland Baker, Florida, and June and Myron Cashel, Van Wert; a brother-in-law and his wife, Rolland and Carolyn Custer, Urbana; and a grandson. He retired from Huffy's Manufacturing in Celina after 35 years of service and also was a farmer. He was a member of Olive Branch Church of God, Rockford, GWRRA Chapter U, Celina, and Chapter N, Lima. He was a former adviser for Rockford Thrifty 4-H Club. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Steve Waterman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City. Calling is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Bill L. Hey 89, of Willshire, Ohio, was received into the loving arms of his Savior at 4:05 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur. He was born on January 7, 1930 in Van Wert County, Ohio the son of the late Delmore M. Hey and the late Beatrice L. (Sims) Hey. He was united in marriage to Evelyn June Turner on June 17, 1951 in Wren, Ohio and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2018. They were married for 67 years before June's passing. He was a member of Decatur Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. Bill worked at International Harvester for 31 years, retiring in 1982. He then worked for Mobile Medical. Bill loved fishing for fish and even more so he was a fisherman for the Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 1:17). He spoiled his grandkids and taught many of them how to fish and catch frogs. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Roy) Cotner of Fort Wayne and Cindy L. (Keith) Sharpe of Ohio City, Ohio; son, Roderick (Joan) Hey of Celina, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-children with two more on the way. Bill was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert E. Hey and Todd Gerald Hey and two sisters, Lois Girardot and Donna Brenizer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Decatur Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery in Willshire, Ohio. Charles E. Macklin, 86, of route 2, Spencerville, O., father of Rev. M.C. Macklin, pastor of the Monroe United Brethren Church, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday at the Roselawn Manor nursing home, Spencerville. Mr. Macklin, a retired farmer, was a member of the Monticello United Brethren in Christ Church, located near Spencerville. Born in Hardin county, O., on Jan. 26, 1887, he was the son of John J. and Charity A. Reid-Macklin, and was married on Dec. 31, 1910, to Minnie Fissel. She preceded her husband in death on April 19, 1970. Survivors include one son, Rev. M.C. Macklin of Monroe; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers preceded Mr. Macklin in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.. Thursday at the Monticello United Brethren in Christ Church, with Rev. Carey G. Knittle, a former Decatur resident, officiating. Burial will be in the Wright cemetery. Friends may call at the Thomas E. Mr. McConahay worked as a building engineer for General Motors in Ohio. He then established his own business, I & R Insulation and Home Improvement in Stroh. He retired from Schrock Builders. Max enjoyed water skiing, riding bikes, traveling to Florida, and walking on the trails at Pokagon State Park. Surviving are his significant other, James C. Horr of Hudson; a sister, Donna Ringler of Pleasant Lake; and a brother, Danny (Sharon) McConahay of Van Wert, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Paul McConahay, Dick McConahay, and Larry McConahay Graveside services will be Friday, November 1, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, Ohio. She was born on February 12, 1929 in Schumm, Ohio the daughter of the late Carl Herman Weinman and the late Berdie Esther (Dull) Weinman. She married Eugene V. Reichard on May 30, 1948 in Chattanooga, Ohio and he preceded her in death on September 17, 2009. Betty was a former member of the Willshire United Methodist Church and current member of Union United Methodist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and member of the United Methodist Women. She was a graduate of Willshire High School in 1947 and was a homemaker. Betty enjoyed watching television and spending time with Gene eating out. She loved kittens and watching the birds in the neighborhood. Betty was a wonderful cook and liked spending time with her family. Carol A. Balazs, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. She was born to the late Joseph and Mary McAfee on January 13, 1954. Carol selflessly dedicated her life to being a mother, grandmother, and foster parent. She worked as an accountant at Lincoln Financial Group, and enjoyed simple pleasures while spending time with family.

Carol is survived by her children, Emily (Jeff) Hacker, Madeline Balazs, Andrew Balazs, Sabrina Balazs, Thin Thin Hlaing, and Sandar Thein; grandchildren, Joe Hacker, Jacob Oo, Patricia Pate, Sarah Pate, and Bonita Balazs; 8 siblings; and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Jo McAfee.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home Lakeside Park (1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805) at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until the time of service. R. Marcile Sanders, 91, of 511 S. Vine St. died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 30, 1909, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Bert Ellsworth and Leary Katherine (Shook) Smith. On Nov. 17, 1940, she married Charles Raysor Sanders, who preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1983. Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker, a graduate of Van Wert High School and a member of the First Church of God in Van Wert. Survivors include a son, Charles D. (Mary Alice) Sanders of Van Wert; two grandchildren, Cherrie Lynn (Skip) Farmer of Ohio City and C. Douglas (Tonya) Sanders of Wauseon, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a brother, Ronald M. Smith. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cown & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Edward N. Beck of First Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and from noon until services Saturday at the funeral home. Erwin K. Keuneke, 87, of Rockford died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at his residence. He was born March 7, 1921, in Adams County, Indiana to the late Albert and Martha (Kiess) Keuneke. He married L. Louise (Heckert) Keuneke on September 19, 1942; and she died in 2003.
Mr Keuneke was a lifelong farmer and retired in 1982 from the General Electric Plant in Decatur with 17 years of service. He was a member of Olive Branch Church of God, and American Legion Post #246 in Ohio City. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Force in the European theater.
Surviving are two sons, John E. (Kathy) Keuneke and David W. (Deb) Keuneke, both of Rockford; a daughter, Mrs. Dave (Linda) Leighner of Rockford; two brothers, Arnold Keuneke of South Whitley, Indiana, and Hubert (Iona) Keuneke of Ohio City; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter (Donna Keuneke in 2007: a son, Edward Keuneke in 1970;and a brother, Marvin Keuneke. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 24, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial was in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery, Ohio City. She was bom September 3,1915, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, to the late Charles Milford and Rosetta (Putman) Agler. On December 10, 1932, she married Kenton C. Jerome; and he died in 1995. Mrs. Jerome attended Olive Branch Church of God and was a member of Van Wert Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are a stepson, Gerald Eugene (Mary Ellen) Jerome of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including, Geraldine Gribler of Ohio City, John (Mary Lou) Gribler of Willshire, and Clara Rose Stone of Jasper, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Timothy, Lee, Morse, Loren, Elic, Garrett, and Cloyd Agler; and two sisters, Hazel Gribler and Violet Frady. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, with Rev. Paul W. Miller and Pastor Steven G. Waterman officiating. Charlene Dailey, 96, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Adams Memorial Hospital. She was born on Thursday, April 14, 1921 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Calvin H. Hamrick and the late Fausta I. (Skidmore) Hamrick. She married Mirdeth (LaMoil) Dailey on November 17, 1944 in Celina, Ohio and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2005. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Brethren in Christ Church in Willshire, Ohio; now known as Praise Point Church. Survivors include her two sons, Larry D. (Kim) Dailey & Carl W. (Marna) Dailey both of Decatur; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jan Edwin Dailey; as well as a four sisters, Nellie Book, Geneva Tallentire, Lois Brandenburg, and Ruth Sudduth. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Praise Point Church in Willshire with Pastor Brad Kittle & Pastor Mark Rutledge officiating. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., Saturday, October 21 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.

Alma L. Nichols, 80, formerly of rural Poneto, died at 3:30 a.m. today, April 15, at Swiss Village Retirement Community. A homemaker, she assisted on the family farm and had resided in Wells County since 1989, previously living in rural Wilshire, Ohio and rural Berne. She attended Sonlight Wesleyan Church. Born June 25, 1924 in Wolfe County, Kentucky to Robert Lee and Virginia Roark Trent, her marriage on Nov. 26, 1943 in Jackson, Ky., was to Russell Nichols, who preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1989. Surviving are three sons, Fred Trent of Craigville, Russell Nichols Jr. and Glenn Nichols, both of rural Berne; three daughters, Brenda Vore and Treva Betz, both of rural Poneto, and Janet Fuller of Ossian. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Trent of Stanton, Ky., and Ralph Trent of Clay City, Ky., a sister, Eva Dongieux of Lake Forest, Calif., 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Conley Trent, a sister, Ruby Shannon and a grandson, James E. Betz. Calling will be at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born on July 6, 1931 in Willshire, Ohio to Jesse R. and Iola K. (Cordell) Hamrick. On December 16, 1950 Phyllis married Gene C. Myers and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2003. She attended the Decatur Church of God and was a former member of the Willshire United Methodist Church, where she was a children's unday school teacher. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #48 in Van Wert, Ohio and the GE Quarter Century Club. Phyllis retired in 1989 from General Electric Company with 39 and a half years of service. She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly S. Schneider of Mt. Gilead, OH and Angela K. (Adam) Powe of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Ray Hamrick of Fort Wayne, IN; sister, Eunice Reppert of Fort Wayne, IN; five grandchildren, Schad Bollenbacher, Deann Leasor, Kyleigh Miller, Jordan Rothgeb, and Madeline Rothgeb; and a great-grandchild, Layla Miller. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Ralph Hamrick. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Decatur Church of God with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Willshire Cemetery in Willshire, Ohio. Janet Ruth Davis of Wren, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 10:50 p.m. at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana. She was born to Joseph G.E. Pence and Thelma V. (Davis) Hutchins on April 17, 1935. Janet was united in marriage to Larry "Moe" Davis on October 9, 1955, in Decatur, Indiana, and together they raised four children, Jeff (Carrie); Laura; Jack (Monica); and James "Jamey". Janet so enjoyed her seven grandchildren, Joe (Ashlynn); Kristen; Jay; and Kim Davis; Natalie (Aaron) Cline; Nick (Siobhan) Marquardt; and Payton (Travis) Hamrick, as well as her great-grandchildren; Emma, McKinley, Hadley, Ryder, Breccan, Leighton, Emma, and Boden. Each child and every grandchild holds a special memory of Janet, be it learning to play cards, a day spent shopping, or lunch being served in the middle of a 'hard work day'. Janet was a graduate of the Wren High School class of 1953 and a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church in America where she was active in the Women's Fellowship. She was a long-standing member of the Wren Christmas Society and an avid supporter of the Wren Ballpark Association, rarely missing a game of summer ball. Her sports enthusiasm carried through to school sports where she and Moe could be seen at every Crestview home game cheering on her mighty Knights. She was also a huge Elvis Presley fan. Janet retired in 2000, after 29 years of service at CTS of Berne where she made many wonderful life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; her son, Jamey; and her sister, Joan Nicholson. There will be a private service held for family with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Preferred memorials are to Wren EMS or St. Paul Reformed Church in America.

Ned Alspaugh, 82, of Willshire, Ohio, died on Saturday April 19, 2003 in the emergency room of Van Wert County Hospital at Van Wert, Ohio. He was born on April 23, 1920 in Edon, Ohio, to Finley J. and Mae Hileman Alspaugh and married Eloise E. Vanderburg on February 28, 1948 and she died on February 22, this year.

He received a bachelor's degree in economics from Ohio State University in 1948 and was a salesman for Remington Rand Co. until retiring in 1968. He then worked for 16 years for Lefeld Implement Co. as a farm equipment salesman.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Schumm, Ohio, and was a former congregational chairman. He was also a master mason of the Capital City Masonic Lodge of Columbus, Ohio; a member of the Aladdin Temple in Columbus; and a former member of the Shriner's Band in Columbus.

He was a member of Elks Lodge 2170 in Celina, Ohio; Lions Club in Willshire, Ohio; the American Legion post, Van Wert; the Van Wert County Farm Bureau; the Van Wert County Republican Central Committee; and the Ohio State University Alumni Association and the Ohio Township Association, of which he was an associate member.

He was a longtime cattleman. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are a sister, Helen Fetters of Berne, and three nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Ohio time) in Zion Lutheran Church at Schumm, with burial in the church cemetery. Visiting hours are 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday (Ohio time) in the church. Preferred memorials are to the church.

Brown, who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2000. Mrs. Brown was retired from General Telephone Co. as a telephone operator and supervisor. She attended First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and was a member of the Van Wert Elks Lodge. She is survived by a sister, Lois Wood, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Norman Conn and a sister, Jeanette Walters. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Allspach-Dearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert. He retired from Huffy's in Celina and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rockford, the United States Trotting Association and the Mercer County Horsemen Association for the past 30 years. Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Mike Berne officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point. Norman E. "Butch Williamson, 61, of Willshire died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert. He was bom September 30, 1945, in Decatur, Indiana, the son of Earl "Dutch" and Helen (Brown) Williamson. On January 15, 1966, he married Donna Jean (Bates) Williamson; and she survives.
Mr. Williamson retired from Phelps Dodge, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, as a fork lift operator. A 1963 graduate of Pleasant Mills High School, he was a member of Willshire Sportsman Club and the Sons of the American Legion.
Also surviving with his wife are three sons, Chad (and Gretchen) Williamson of Convoy, Cale (and Tara) Williamson of Willshire, and Cody (and Bridget) Williamson of Van Wert a daughter, Cara Smith of Willshire; his father, Earl "Dutch" Williamson of Decatur; two brothers, Gene and Jerry Williamson, both of Decatur; a sister, Ms. Tom (Cheryll) Eyanson of Decatur; and seven grand¬children.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 30, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with Rev. Dick Sprunger and Rev. Mark Rutledge officiating.
Burial. was in Willshire Cemetery

In memoriam of Deanne Osborn Taylor, 10/26/1940 - 08/25/2017
Deanne Osborn Taylor peacefully passed from this life to the next on August 25th after a 5-year bout with Parkinson's disease. Deanne was born in Willshire, Ohio and was valedictorian of her graduating class in 1958. She went on to West Suburban Nursing school and Wheaton College, graduating in 1963. At Wheaton, she met her future husband, John Taylor, they married in 1962 and were married for 49 years. After graduation, she immediately took on the profession of motherhood, raising three children. Deanne later went on to receive her Master's degree in nursing in 1977 from the University of Pittsburgh and then taught nursing at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Upon moving to California in 1979, Deanne again practiced nursing, then opened a small business with her husband, and ultimately became the administrative manager for her husband's patent law practice for many years until his retirement. In 2006, Deanne and John moved to Texas to be near their daughter and grandchildren and enjoyed family time during those years. Deanne was treasured for her loving character, generous and patient nature and deep faith in God through Jesus Christ. The light of Jesus shone brightly through her, blessing every person she came across through her life. Deanne is survived by her three children, Kim Oliver of Austin TX, Kirk Taylor and Kerry Taylor of San Diego, CA. She also has seven grandchildren: Annaliese, Jared and Madalyn of Austin TX and Kento, Sage, Skyler and Nate of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by three siblings, Dean Osborn, Daryl Osborn and Deb Schmidt all from Ohio. Following services that were held in Texas, funeral services for Deanne will be held locally at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home - Decatur where the family will receive friends and family one hour prior to services. Following the services at the funeral home, Deanne will be buried next to her husband, John, in Willshire Cemetery in Willshire, Ohio.

Abigail Ann "Abby" Roehm, 1, of Ohio City, OH passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 at her residence after being diagnosed with Alpers - Huttenlocher Syndrome, a rare Mitochondrial disease that affects the cells of the body. She was born on July 15, 2016 in Decatur the daughter of Robert Roehm and Amanda (Dugan) Roehm. Abby and her parents are members of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schumm. Abby's father is a mechanic at BF Goodrich in Woodburn. Abby's mother is a homemaker. Abby, in her short time on earth, showed the value of life in how she affected those around her. She was very loved by all her family and brought joy and smiles to everyone. She also allowed that same love to be returned to her in the care that she received from her family along with her doctors and nurses. Survivors include her parents, Robert and Amanda Roehm of Ohio City, OH; brother, Ryder Roehm; brother, Vincent Roehm; Maternal Grandparents, Tom and Becky Dugan of Rockford, OH; Paternal Grandparents, Roland and Teresa Roehm of Willshire, OH; Maternal Great Grandparents, Dave and Barb Hileman of Rockford, OH; Paternal Great Grandmother, Gretchen Ericson of Decatur, IN. Abby was preceded in death by Maternal Great Grandparents: Vincent and Doris Dugan; Paternal Great Grandfather, Paul Roehm Jr.; and Paternal Great Grandparents; Donald and Gisela Garwood. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm with Rev. Jeff Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Schumm in Schumm, OH. Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, August 17 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schumm; Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio; Community Health Professionals - Hospice Care of Van Wert.

Edith M. Zizelman, 71, Decatur, died unexpectedly at 3:20 p.m. Sunday (Ohio time) in Van Wert County, Hospital, Van Wert, Ohio. She was born in Mercer County, Ohio on March 5, 1918 to William and Bessie White Beougher and married Jack Zizelman; he died July 5, 1974. She was a housekeeper at Adams County Memorial Hospital for 10 years and attended Union Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are one sister, Florence Fast, route 5, Decatur; one brother, Clifford Beougher, St. Mary, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. One daughter, Sharon, and two brothers are deceased. Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday (Ohio time) at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, with burial in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Tuesday (Ohio time) at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses.
