SIDNEY BOVEE - Roulet Jewelers President Was With Firm 39 Years
Sidney R. Bovee, 69, of West Perry Street, Walbridge, president of Roulet Jewelers, who designed and manufactured the current badges of the Toledo police and fire departments, died yesterday in Toledo Hospital. Born in Whitehouse, and a former resident of Risingsun, O., Mr. Bovee had been a resident of Walbridge most of his life. Associated with the jewelry manufacturing firm for 39 years, he was president for 20 years. He started with Roulet Jewelers as a hand engraver and designer of a variety of j ewelry items. Over the years, he had specialized in the production of law enforcement badges and Masonic pins and rings. He frequently recalled that he had made thousands of Masonic items.

Designed, Manufactured Badges
Periodically, he was called upon to redesign badges worn by Toledo police and firemen. Many police, fire and sheriff's badges for surrounding community agencies also had been designed and manufactured by Mr. Bovee. In addition, Mr. Bovee had made hundreds of door plaques for Toledo and area hospitals. A 32nd-degree Mason, he was a member of Calumet Lodge, F&AM. One of the founders of the Vagabonds, a Fostoria, O., camping club, he also was a member of the Swinging Saddlites, a Fostoria western square dance group.

World War II Veteran
He was an army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; sons, Richard and Roger, daughters, Mrs. Sandra True and Mrs. Regenea Wagner, and brother Raymond. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Witzler-Shank Mortuary, Walbridge, where the body will be after 7 tonight. Calumet Lodge will conduct services at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the mortuary. The family requests that any tributes be in the form of contributions to the Wood County Cancer Society.

Kenneth "Duke" Bollenbacher, 83, of Payne OH. died April 7 at his home.
He was born on March 22,1914 in Adams County to Edward and Nora (Morningstar) Bollenbacher. He was a 33 year employee of the Decatur, Indiana Central Soya plant and was a Van Wert County farm owner. Surviving is a son, Greg Bollenbacher, of Payne; three daughters Judy Hindenlang of Decatur. Ind., Kay Jaurigue of Decatur. Ind.. Terry Johnson of Churubusco, Ind.; a brother, Donald Bollenbacher of Willshire; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, one sister and one grand-daughter are deceased. Calling will be 2-9 p.m. (Ohio Time) on Thursday, April 10, at the Slade Funeral Home at Payne. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11 at First Church of God. Van Wert. Burial will be at the Willshire Cemetery, Willshire. Preferred memorials are gifts to the Payne, Ohio E.M.S.

Evan D. Case, 61, formerly of 2050 Nelson St., died at 12:13 p.m. Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion. He had been ill for several years. Mr. Case was a former self-employed construction worker who had operated Case Construction Co. with his brother. He had lived most of his life in Fort Wayne and was a World War II Army veteran. A nephew and several nieces survive. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Marquart Funeral Home in Monroeville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. Thursday until the time of service. Burial will be in Willshire, Ohio, cemetery.

He was born July 29, 1910, in Benettsville, S.C., a son of William B. and Lilly (Price) Sanders. Survivors include his widow, the former Marcile Smith whom he married Nov. 17, 1940; a son Charles D. Sanders of 302 N. Cherry St.; two brothers, William Sanders Jr. of Dillon, N. C., and Sidney Sanders of California; three sisters, Katie Sanders and Nellie Long, both of Dillon and Ruth Nobles of Lumberton, N. C. and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Mr. Sanders was a retired salesman for Modern Cleaners in New Haven, Ind., and a member of First Church of God. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Cowan and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm, O. Born in Willshire Township, Van Wert County, O., on Oct 31, 1890, he was the son of William and Maria Hefner-Schumm, and was married Nov. 1, 1914, to Hilda M. Schumm; she died Sept. 28, 1974. Survivors include three children, Hildred W.M. Schumm, route 1, Willshire; Harold P. Schumm, route 4, Rockford; Roman C. Schumm, route 1, Willshire; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Three sisters and six brothers preceded him in death. Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm, with Rev. Gary A. Luderman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was born on May 5, 1918 in Blue Creek Township of Adams County to Fred. L. and Sa Vada Stetler Marbaugh. His father is deceased; his mother lives on route 1, Willshire. He married Ruth I. Cook on October 6, 1938; she also survives. He was a farmer for 34 years in Mercer County, retiring in 1981. He was also an active harness racer and a member of the Ohio Harness Association. He was a member of the Blue Creek Coon Hunters Association and Willshire United Brethren Church. Other survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Hileman, route 2, Ohio City, Ohio; Mrs. James (Marlene) Bickel, Fort Wayne; Mrs. Larry (Jean) Suman, Springfield, Ohio; and Jackie Marbaugh, route 1, Willshire; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. LEON F. MARBAUGH, 71, of Willshire, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb 18, in Van Wert County Hospital. He was born on May 5, 1918, in Adams County, Ind.,a son of Sa Vada (Stetler) Marbaugh of Willshire and the late Fred L. Marbaugh. On Oct. 6, 1938, he married the former Ruth I. Cook. and she survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Hileman of Ohio City, Mrs. James (Marlene) Bickel of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Larry (Jean) Suman of Springfield, and Jackie Marbaugh of Willshire; a sister, Mrs Glen (Annis) Bates of Willshire; 11 grand/ch. and four grt/grd/ch. Lynn V. Soule, 62, of 1025 E. sycamore St., died this morning in his residence following an apparent heart attack. The Fire Department emergency squad was called to the residence at 7:35 a.m., but he was dead upon their arrival.
Mr. Soule was born April 14, 1918, in Mercer County, a son of Frank and Eda (Emmons) Soule. Survivors include his widow, the former Agatha Agler, whom he married June 3, 1948; two half brothers, Franklin and Vearl Muter, both of Celina, and a half-sister, Doris Behm of Celina. Mr. Soule was a World War II army veteran where he served in the Pacific Theatre. He was a retired 34-year employee of Continental Forest Industries and was a member of the Moose and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cowan and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. David Roudabush from Trinity Friends Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, where graveside military services will be conducted by the VFW.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Mrs. Fowler was born on Dec. 2, 1902 at Ohio City, the daughter of Lewis J. and Stella Henrietta Asmith (sic) Agler. She was married to Cloyd Abraham Fowler, who preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1972.
Mrs. Fowler was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a son, Jerry J. Fowler of Dundee, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest J. (Martha) Spahr of Van Wert and Mrs. Herbert L. (Ruth Alberta) Blackmon of Fort Wayne; one brother, Pete Agler of Ohio City; two sisters, Mrs. Agatha Soule and Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy M) Tresel, both of Van Wert; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday at the Cowan and Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald L Baney officiating. Burial will be in the Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 pm Thursday. The family will be present from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

Arthur P. "Budd" Trisel, 65, of 143 Idlewood Drive, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born March 1, 1921, in Rockford, a son of Otto and Della (Anselman) Trisel.
He was married on June 17, 1939 to the former Dorthy Agler and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jan Trisel of Van Wert and Gary Trisel of Mendon; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Judy) Hone of Portland, Ind.; five brothers, Leo Trisel of Willshire, Roy Trisel of Celina, Herman Trisel of Middletown, Clarence and Sterling Trisel, both of Rockford; two sisters, Virginia Birt of Celina and Lorena Binkley of Dayton; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Mr. Trisel was a retired employee of Continental Can Corp. where he worked for 43 years. He was a member of the Church of God in Mendon; Robert G. Longwell Post No. 5803, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Van Wert Moose lodge. He was a World War II Army Veteran.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Cowan and Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. M.C. Macklin and the Rev. Glen Masser officiating. Burial will be in Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery.

Bennett, whom he married April 10, 1948; three sons, Randy Agler of 630 State St. and Jeffrey L. and Barry Agler, both of Celina; a daughter, Mrs. Donald E. (Robin L.) Waltmire of Rt. 4; two stepdaughters, Justine Suthak of Florida and Sharon Cvitkodic of Michigan; a brother, Pete Agler, of Ohio City; three sisters, Mrs. Treva Fowler and Mrs. Agatha Soule, both of 816 W. Main St. and Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) Trisel of 143 Idlewood Drive; four grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Mr. Agler was a 37 year employee of Continental Forest Industries. He was a member of Ohio City Church of God, a life member of the Van Wert VFW post and a member of the American Legion and the Veterans Club of Continental Can. He was also a veteran of World War II. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Cowan and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.

Mrs. Agler was born Dec. 23, 1896, in Liberty Township, a daughter of Lewis and Ida May (Robinson) Malin. She was married to William Guy Hoghe. He preceded her in death. She then married Clifford Marcell Agler. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1975. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Hoghe of Middle Point, two daughter, Mrs. Irene Martin of Huntington, Ind., and Mrs. Eugene (Helen) Smith of Rt. 5; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Henson and Mrs. Geraldine Hutchinson, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Agler was also preceded in death by a son, Vernon Wellington Hoghe on July 6, 1977; a brother, Malin, and a sister, Mildred H. Brink. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and the Railroad Auxiliary. She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She was also a member of the Garden Club.
Born in Hoaglin Township, Van Wert County, O., on Oct. 18, 1929, she was the daughter of Herbert and Goldie Carmean-Thatcher, and was married on March 8, 1952, to John W. Callow, who survives.
She was employed for 12 years at the Holiday Inn, Van Wert.
Survivors include three sons, John Craig Callow, Brian W. Callow, and Kerry L. HARLEY J BEARD
MONTPELIER, O. - Harley J. Beard, 53, died Sunday morning after an illness of several months. He had lived on Route 3 in Montpelier, Ohio, and had been a moulder of Hootman Foundry, in Bryan, Ohio. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict as a paratrooper. He was born in Butler June 24, 1934, to Harley V. and Dorothy (Deams) Beard. He is survived by one son, Rich of Montpelier; one daughter, Dawn Beard of Montpelier; one brother, Roddy Werner of Waterloo; and two grandchildren. Calling is at the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday. Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Grosse, of the Montpelier Church of Nazarene, will officiate. Harold P. Schumm, 66, of near Rockford, Ohio, died at 12:10 a.m. Monday in St Rita's Hospital, Lima, Ohio. He had been in ill health since December 5 with cancer.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion in Rockford. His wife, the former Leahline Case, died in 1981. Survivors include two sons, Jim, of near Rockford, and John, at home; a daughter, Kay Schumm, at home; one sister, Hildred Schumm, route 1, Willshire; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today and one hour prior to services at the church Thursday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials are to the Wren EMS and the Visiting Nurses Association of Van Wert.

George W. Roth, 90, formerly of 210 Middle St.; died at 9:45 a.m. Friday in Van Wert County Hospital, where he had been seriously ill for two days. He was born Oct. 14, 1897, in Tully Township, a son of Charles T. and Florence V. (Miller) Roth. He was married to Mable Hablitzel, who died in 1964. On Sept. 30, 1966, he married Vearl Wise, who died in 1984. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Faye Ann) Nihiser of Rt. 3.
Mr. Roth was a retired farmer and former Union Township road maintenance supervisor. He was a lifetime member of the Van Wert Eagles and a member of the Van Wert Senior Citizens.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Albert Straley to officiate. Burial will be in the Convoy IOOF cemetery. Calling hours are 1-9 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 1-4 and 7-9.

Surviving is a sister Mary B. McMillian, Pleasant Mills. A daughter, a sister and four brothers are deceased. The body was cremated in Calif. Local memorial services were held at a later date with Cowan and Sons Funeral Home, Van Wert, Ohio in charge of arrangements.

He was born on September 3, 1921 in Decatur to Brenton and Ethel Marie Turner Williams and married Dorothy Mae Harmon on June 13, 1940. She survives. He retired from Dana Corp. in Fort Wayne after a 30-year career and attended Wren Methodist Brethren Church. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 43 in Decatur. Other survivors are two sons, Donald L. Williams, Waterloo, Indiana, and Gerald E. Williams, Van Wert, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Olen (Dixie Lou) West, Geneva; two sisters, Patricia Tinkham, route 1, Monroe and Mrs. Robert (Hillis) Sudduth, St. Joseph, Missouri; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A number of brothers and sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Zwick-Sefton and Jahn Funeral Home, Rev. Craig Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio, with military graveside services by the American Legion Post 43. Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Wren United Methodist Church or Van Wert Visiting Nurses and Hospice.

Surviving are two sons: Donald L. Fair of Bedford and Fonzie E. Fair II of Indianapolis; two daughters: Josie Parsley of Springville and Cindy Strunk of Oolitic; three brothers: Lewis Fair of Louisville, Ky., Fount Fair of Campbellsville, Ky., and Tommie Fair of Gardner, N.C.; three sisters: Buelie Mills of Mooresville, Edna Mills of Indianapolis and Roxie Nicholas of Lafayette; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Danny Fair and two brothers: Dallas and Joseph Fair.

AN ESTIMABLE LADY.
One of the pioneers of York Township Passed Away at Her Home in Venedocia, Last Evening.   Mrs. Margaret Morris, died at her home in Venedocia, last evening at 10:30, after a lingering illness of several weeks.
  Mrs. Morris was among the pioneers of this county having come here from Jackson county before the war. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jones, furnace, who owned several sections of land in this county in the early days. She was united in marriage to Owen Morris, who passed away some twenty years ago. Mrs. Morris was an active and faithful member of the Welsh church at Venedocia, a lady possesing many excellent traits of character. She is survived by eight children, who are prominent in church, social and business circles, viz: Mrs. J.J. Edwards, Mrs. Lewis W. Jones, Mrs. R. R. Thomas, Mrs. Russel Evans, and Miss Luella Morris, Eben E. Morris, D. C. Morris and F. O. Morris all as Venedocia and Thomas Edwin Morris of Jackson, Ohio, also a brother, Eben Jones, of Jackson, and a sister, Miss Margaret Jones, of Columbus.
  Mrs. Morris had been in poor health for several months, suffering from a general break down, so the end was not unexpected. Funeral services will be held at the Salem Welsh church at two o'clock sun time, Friday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Edward Roberts. Interment will be made in the family burying grounds in the Welsh cemetery.
