Look-Ups
If you have resource material (books, CDs, etc.) for Warren County or have access to cemeteries, churches, court houses, etc., and are willing to volunteer to do lookups, I would be delighted to hear from you. To volunteer, send an email to the coordinator - please include your name, email address, the complete titles of the materials and a brief description of their contents. All are encouraged to read the USGenWeb Copyright Information page.
Please note that these offers are old and contact information for them may no longer work, we do not have alternate contact information.
Guidelines when requesting a look-up:
1. Click on the title of the book and it will give you the
appropriate mail form.
2. Please do not delete the automated message subject. This will
ensure that your request is not accidentally overlooked or deleted. Put
the name of book or place where you are requesting the lookup in the
first line of the message. Many volunteers help with more than one and
need to know what you are looking for in order to help you
successsfully.
3. Limit your request to 1 or 2 specific names. Asking for ALL the
marriages on a surname will probably be ignored or request denied.
4. Remember - the Look-up person is a volunteer, and is doing you
a favor. Please treat them with patience and respect, and thank them.
1887 History and
Directory of Warren County The book is broken down by towns in Warren county (Washington, Hackettstown, Belvidere, Phillipsburg, Allamuchy Twsp, Blairstown Twsp, Franklin Twsp, Greenwich Twsp, Hope Twsp, Hardwick Twsp, Harmony Twsp, Independence Twsp, Knowlton Twsp, Lopatcong Twsp, Mansfield Twsp, Oxford Twsp, Pahaquarry Twsp, Pohatcong Twsp, Washington Twsp. The book gives brief history of each town and lists residents with street and occupation. It also lists businesses in the town. It includes a miscellaneous section with tips on farming, cooking, recipes, and cures (very funny). If anyone would like me to do a lookup, it would be helpful if they knew the town, if not, it will take a bit longer as the book is not totally in alphabetical order nor does it have an index. "Creveling Family Genealogy" I have researched various Warren County newspapers for information on the Creveling family. I printed many pages from microfilm pertaining to Creveling info, i.e. deaths, marriages, etc. Most of the info on dates is from Louis Creveling's 1988 book, Creveling Family Genealogy. If you have relatives in this family I will check my records or Louis's book for info. The Creveling family was involved in Warren County history from the early days. Posted date unknown. |
