Churches in Atlantic County, N.J.

(This is ONLY A PARTIAL LISTING)

Please note that although religious meetings took place at much earlier dates in these areas than when the churches were built, records weren’t well kept. Circuit riders generally visited several places each week. If they kept journals not much was recorded.   Also their journals were basically their property and not kept at any central location. Even after a church was built any records that might have been kept could be lost by fire, flooding, rodents and even over zealous housekeeping.
