The decision was made early on to produce this book with the "page frames" as much like the original as possible. The purpose: "flavor of the original".

This work is from copies made on a copy machine. Should you wish "a better copy" of a photograph, please contact NSHS Library in Lincoln and see if they can provide one.

On two of the Red Cross report pages, single sentence paragraphs were combined into double sentence paragraphs to get the text to fit within the frame. The original sentence order was maintained.

On pages 134 - 5:  we had to move three rows of school districts up to page 134 from page 135. The last row of districts appearing on page 134 of the book includes numbers 3, 12, and 23. If you find information below that point, it appears in the original on page 135. Even this arrangement meant we had to reduce the size of the font.

One name was corrected in the index to appear as it did on the indexed page. (We did not retain the typo in the index. "Wurdeman, Genry H." in the original index, appears here as "Wurdeman, Henry H.")

The original book did NOT have a "table of contents", and the index was less than complete. The first has been added. The latter has been expanded & is provided for your convenience. Ted & Carole Miller
