Andrew J. Allen
Note Very little could be found on Andrew and his wife Martha J. They farmed on several sections of New Rockford Township. He was living in Howell, Livingston County, Michigan when he enlisted. He served in Company A, 9th Michigan Infantry and Companies I and C, 5th Michigan. He started receiving a pension in Dakota Territory on 5 May 1888. It's believed they left the county and no burial location could be affirmed.

Note Although he was one of the settlers of New Rockford and the first Postmaster he did not remain here very long, resettling in Wisconsin. He was a Captain in the war serving in Company C, 109th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers.
