GOING NORTH ON ROUTE 27 BETWEEN NEW VINEYARD, MAINE AND WEST NEW PORTLAND,
MAINE, TURN LEFT AT STUMP POND AND TAYLOR HILL ROAD. TRAVEL ABOUT 1 MILE TO
PEABODY CORNER, TURN LEFT AND FIND THE CEMETERY ALMOST IMMEDIATELY ON YOUR RIGHT
IN A FIELD. PASS THROUGH A GATE AND FIND THE CEMETERY SURROUNDED BY A SPLIT-RAIL
FENCE WITH RED MAPLES, LILACS AND ROSES AROUND THE PERIMETER. IT HAS A LARGE
IRISH CELTIC CROSS CENTERED AGAINST THE BACK FENCE.
This information was
provided to me by Elaine Wells, who is related to the Adams Family who is buried
in this Cemetery. She felt that people should know there are
actually two
separate cemeteries at this location - not one whole as indicated by the
entry of McLain-Peabody.

Take Route 43 out of the center of Town, East toward Industry. Take a right
onto the Perham Hill Road - about a mile from town. At almost the top of the
first hill, there's a well-kept farmhouse on the left. In the back corner of the
first field is this cemetery. For years it was covered by leaves and such, but
the owners of the farmhouse took care to clean out the brush and rope off the
area. This cemetery is on private property; and permission to access should be
obtained by the owners of the farmhouse.

Some evidence of other stones, but perhaps were "just field stones."
Take SR-4 north from Farmington, Me. to junction of SR-4 & 149. Go about 4.5
miles to a very steep hill into valley. Cemetery is on the right as you come out
of the valley and is bounded by large Pine trees. Easy to see from road.

From Main Street in Wilton, take Rte. 156 toward Weld. About 4.5 miles is the
Tobin Flat Road on the right. This little cemetery is at the end of the road on
the left - up on a knoll with a couple large old white birch trees. Grown up.
Broken stones.

RICHARDSON: James d. Aug 6 1847 @52y
James, son of James & Sarah d. Apr 27
1853 @19y 4m
Footstone: SER - probably Sarah's footstone, but large stone is
gone.
ADAMS: Clarence, son of Enos & Julia d. Mar 6 1860 @9m 22d
Julia
A, wife of Rev. E. T. Adams d. Apr 20 1871 @34y 7m 22d
There's a white
stone - broken, and with absolutely no writing leaning up against a tree. I
suspect this is Enos' stone, but no proof.
