Soldiers from Sauk County on the Tuscania WWI


The Tuscania was the first ship taking American troops to Europe to be torpedoed and sunk by a German Submarine in the first World War. On January 24 1918, the Tuscania was scheduled to embark, destination Le Havre, France.
Scheduled arrival date: March 24, 1918
Sunk: February 5, 1918
Cause: Torpedoed Amidship - Starboard Boiler Room.

If you have information to add about a specific soldier, including pension records, please send them to me. If you have an old picture to go with your soldier's story, I can post that too!

Remember, the soldier can be a veteran of any historical war, not just the Civil War. The war must have occurred prior to 1920.
