    Virginia Myers, Jan 2, 2003 - MYERS

In about 1850, the Myers families began a western trek from Knox County, Ohio. One brother Daniel (born 1817, Washington Co., MD) moved to Allen County, Ohio. Another brother moved to Williams County. I read in the Lima News (film- ca 1885) where Daniel went to visit his brother in Bryan, Ohio, who he had not seen in about 35 years. We think that possibly Daniel's father - and his name we are trying to learn - migrated to Williams County with the brother. We have found a Martin Myers in Williams County , born 1817, who could be the brother. Also it is possible that the father's name was Peter. There is a Peter Myers buried in Shifflett Cemetery. Can anyone there help us to determine the brother and father of our Daniel?

    Ellie Kilpatrick, May 26, 2003 - KILPATRICK

I am searching for records of the Kilpatrick family who lived in Pulaski twp. in 1850.  One of the boys, Oscar, who was 10 then, wrote later in Civil War Pension records, that he was born in Hartford Ohio. Hartford today is in Licking Co., but could there have been a 'settlement' called Hartford in Williams Co. in 1840?  His brother, Thomas, who was 6 in 1850, said in his memoirs that he was born in Akron Ohio.  Could there have been a crossroads called Akron in Williams Co in 1840. (I know Akron is in Summit Co. but having searched there with no results, I guess I'm "grabbing at straws").

    Ed & Kristen Ewers, June 30, 2003 - EWERS

I am trying to confirm or deny a story related to the surname "EWERS".  I was told the EWERS surname traveled to Montpelier in the early years along with a group from the Pennsylvania area.  Other surnames in the party may have been FIREOVID and HENRY.  I am told the ancestors to these EWERS then moved to the Angola, IN area. One name included Algen (or Elgen) EWERS. I am trying to make the connection between this line of EWERS and my family line that came from the Bucks, Co. PA area and settled in Defiance County.  Any information regarding this line would be appreciated.
