    Linda Stewart, April 4, 2000 - GIBBENS - JOBES - MUNDAY/MUNDY
My great grandfather, Andrew Jackson GIBBENS, was born
in Nov 1844 in Bronson, Branch Co, MI. He lived in Williams Co, OH with his parents Frederick GIBBENS and Ann (FERRIER) GIBBENS in 1860. He joined the Civil War in Michigan City, IN. He married Elizabeth JOBES in 1867 in Camden, Hillsdale Co, MI. He had a child, Francis, in 1868 (I don't know if this is a male or female). He had a daughter, Bertha, in 1872. They were born in either Williams Co, OH or Hillsdale Co, MI.
Elizabeth and Andrew were divorced in 1877 in Williams Co, OH. The next I know of him was in 1879 when he married Adella R. TAYLOR, daughter of Dr. James Bishop TAYLOR and Sarah Pricilla HALL, in Williams Co, OH. He was living with Della and Bertha in 1880 according to the census for Williams Co, OH. They must have been divorced (Della didn't die until 1903) but Andrew remarried in 1884 in DeKalb Co, IN. He married Martha Jane HENDRICKS, daughter of Samuel King HENDRICKS and Martha Jane PRICHARD. Martha and Andrew moved to Smith Co, KS where my grandfather, Verne GIBBENS, and his brother, Henry GIBBENS, were born. They moved to Campbell, Franklin Co, NE where he lived until his death in 1904. Bertha died in her teens. Frederick, Andrew's father, lived in Edon, Williams Co, OH until his death. He was listed on the 1870 Williams Co, OH census as being married to Sarah MUNDAY, widow of John MUNDAY. They were married in 1863. They had a son, Jefferson GIBBENS, in 1866. Also living with them was a son of John and Sarah MUNDAY, George MUNDY (this is how it was spelled on the census). Frederick is buried in West Buffalo Cemetery and Ann in Leggett Cemetery (it used to be named Gibbens Cemetery because he donated land for the cemetery.)

Do you have any information about Andrew GIBBENS, Frederick GIBBENS, Francis GIBBENS, John MUNDAY, Sarah MUNDAY, Elizabeth JOBES or Jefferson GIBBENS? Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Linda Wilbur, April 23, 2000 - HOLLINGSHEAD, etc.
I desperately need vital data and family information for a William HOLLINGSHEAD. This William was married to Louisa MYRINDA on 26 November, 1810 or 1820 in Athens Co., OH. He went to Jackson Co., OH (where one Daniel Hollingshead sold him some land in 1816), then to Williams Co.,OH. According to my source, he is supposed to have died in Williams Co. in 1841.  She also says that he was a War of 1812 veteran. One of his probable children was my great-great grandfather, Nathaniel Hollingshead. Nathaniel married Charlotte SPAKE 10 November, 1849 in Williams Co.  I feel that I am on the right track as Louisa Hollenshead, age 77, was living with Nathaniel and his family in the 1870 census for Camden, Hillsdale Co., MI.  I have had a very difficult time finding parents for Nathaniel because - even though he died in 1893 - there seems to be no existing Michigan death record for him. Any assistance anyone can give me with this thorny genealogical problem would be greatly appreciated. I will also share what I have on the family with any interested party.

Because of the timing of his birth, and the census, and general lack of record keeping I have had no luck at all in even finding any proof of his existence. And I know he did, but I do not have the access to any place that may have some type of information. Is there any way that you may be able to help me find something that will allow me to continue. I have been at a standstill for 3 yrs.

My tailors are masters of the trade and I feel perfectly justified in warranting satisfaction in quality, style and fit.  LONGS' BLOCK, BRYAN, Ohio " I know nothing more but assume he married one of my ancestors and they left Devon, England to settle in the U.S.A. at the end of the 19th century. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Florence KRABILL taken at the J.E. Beach Studio in Bryan, Williams County, Ohio. The photograph was likely taken in the early 1900's and Florence appears to be about 15 years of age at the time. I believe this may be Florence L. KRABILL who was born in Wisconsin 16 March 1890 and died in San Diego County California 21 June 1974. Since she was still using this name at the time of her death I'm guessing she may have never married. If you are a member of this KRABILL family or know someone who might be related, please contact me. I'd like to find Florence's family and return the photograph, lovely photos like this one belong with family, deserve to be passed from generation to generation.

Defiance County, but I believe he married in Germany to Elizabeth Koch (Cook), reportedly born in Germany in 1832---an
Elizabeth Rubel aged 30 arrives in the US Jun.11, 1867, not sure if she is the same. Theobald died Sept.8, 1867 in Pulaski Twp.,
Williams Co., OH and all I have for Elizabeth is she died in Williams Co., in 1910. Known children Christopher, Elizabeth
(married a William Carpenter), and infant son, Jacob (who also appears as Ruple, died Oct.21, 1914, Williams Co), John,
Caroline (born about 1860), and Charles David (born Jan.5, 1870, Bryan, Williams Co. and also appears as Ruple). Charles'

    Janice, Dec. 13, 2000 - SCOVILLE
Seeking info on the name SCOVILLE in Bridgewater Township. Specifically,  Milo, Myron & Ira SCOVILLE. An "M" SCOVILLE is listed on the Platt Book  records 1904. This "M" Scoville could possibly be a child of Milo or Myron.  It has been said that Ira SCOVILLE may have died in Bridgewater while on a   visit to a relative. Ira settled in Rochester, Loraine County and after 1840. We have not been able to find a record of him. He was born 25 Sept 1766 in   Cornwall, CT.

Shelly Wellmon, Dec. 19, 2000 - MILLER, KIRKINGBURG
Looking for information on the Jacob Miller family. Jacob and his wife, Anna Stover Miller, are buried in the Floral Grove Cemetery just outside of Pioneer in Williams Co., Ohio. Jacob had several daughters and at least one son, John F. Miller, who is buried beside his parents. I am a descendant of John. I do believe that John had a brother named Jake or Jacob. John married Arilla Kirkingburg, eldest daughter of Levi Kirkingburg. Looking for any info on this family.
