Mrs. Minnie Shook, a former resident of Wren, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Clem Anderson at Gideon, Mo., Sunday, according to word received by relatives here. Mrs. Shook was the widow of the late Allen Shook. The body will be brought to the Wren Mausoleum Wednesday for burial. Among the survivors are a number of nieces and nephews in Van Wert County.

Mrs. Mary Nettie Syphers, 84, 215 South Wall Street, died at 12:08 a.m. today. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage 12 days ago, and had been seriously ill since. For the past five years, she had been in failing health. Mrs. Syphers was born October 20(sic), 1873 in Willshire Township, the daughter of William Cully and Eliza Bowen. She had resided in the Willshire community most of her life until she moved to Van Wert 17 years ago. In 1890 she was married to Grant M. Syphers, who preceded her in death in 1950. The couple had no children. Surviving are a brother, Clark Cully, of Willshire Township; a sister, Mrs. George Albright, 120 West Crawford Street. Three sisters are deceased. Mrs. Syphers and her husband operated a grocery in Willshire for a number of years. She was a charter member of the Willshire Pythian Sisters Lodge, and later transferred to the Van Wert Linden Temple No. 18, Pythian Sisters, where she was recently made a life member. She was a member of the Van Wert First Methodist Church, and of the Women Society of Christian Service. Friends may call at the Cowan and Son Funeral Home after 7 p.m. this evening. Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday with Dr. Paul D. Chiles, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

George Dellinger Dies Last Evening - Heart Attack Fatal To Local Resident George Dellinger, 88, of 519 Jefferson street, died suddenly at 7:30 o'clock Sunday evening of a heart attack while visiting at the home of a son, Frank Dellinger, eight miles southeast of Decatur. A retired farmer, he was a former assessor of Blue Creek township, and also served as an assessor in Decatur. He was born in Mercer county, O., Feb. 28, 1862, a son of George and Catherine Hoffman-Dellinger. His wife, Margaret, died Oct. 1, 1947. Surviving are two sons, Frank, and William of Decatur; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Neptune of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Henry Dellinger of Decatur. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Black funeral home, the Rev. Seth Painter officiating. Burial will be in the Plank cemetery, three miles east of Willshire, O. FRANK SHEETS DIES LATE MONDAY NIGHT
Funeral Services Thursday Afternoon Frank O. Sheets, 71, retired farmer residing seven miles southwest of Convoy, O., died at 11:30 o'clock Monday night at the Clinic hospital in Bluffton after an illness of several months. He had been hospitalized since Jan. 18. He was born in Harrison township, Van Wert county, O., Dec. 5, 1882, a son of George and Susanna Mentzer-Sheets, and was a lifelong resident of the township. He was married to Maude Manley Aug. 28, 1910. Mr. Sheets was a lifelong member of the Bethlehem Lutheran church in Harrison township. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Gale and Carl Sheets, both of Harrison township; four grandchildren; two brothers, Otto Sheets of Convoy and Peter Sheets of Van Wert, and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Knavel of Convoy and Mrs. Susie Springer of Harrison township. One daughter, two brothers and one sister are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. (EST) Thursday at the Bethlehem Lutheran church in Harrison township, the Rev. Guy M. Lubold officiating. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery at Van Wert. The body was brought to the Zwick funeral home, where friends may call this evening. The body will be removed to the residence, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday until 1:30 p.m. Thursday when it will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of the services.
