I'm in possession of a book of limericks/poems writing by cousins/sisters/friends of Amanda Belle Goff (Schooley) - my gg grandmother. Most of these the entries were between 1884-1890, and most of the persons were from Defiance county. The surnames of the persons who wrote these 'diddies' to my gg grandmother are - Schooley, Warner, Wentworth, Coward, Dunlap, Lybarger, Dixson, Wish, Ogilivie, McCartney, Leynde, Goff, Harris, Keener, McCormick, Elliot, Williams, Strong, Aston, Clark, and Erter. I have done my best to read the handwriting and some of the above names are guesses, so it is possible that I have not read the writing correctly. There are over 50 entries from locals of Defiance and surrounding counties to Amanda. If you have any of these names in your research, and you are interested in having me look up poems authored by individuals which are connected to

Please visit my website dedicated to those Americans who were imprisoned and died in captivity while in the service to our country.

There are 2 online databases to do lookups.....One by name...one by Company and Regiment. I also have a copy of the Dorence Atwater Death list which has the names and grave numbers of 12960 graves with only 460 marked as " UNKNOWN " This along with a CD I have which contains 34,000 names of the 45,000 who were imprisoned there which helps me find prisoner records because of misspellings of the names or alternate names.

I visit the prison site every couple of weeks and have access to the onsite databases as well as the physical files. I would like to let you know of another service I offer which is to take photos of graves for a small fee. Please do not concider this spam as my research offer is FREE for the asking ad will be posted on this county site only once. If there is anything I can do in helping your research at Andersonville, please just ask.
