Chamberlain Letter

"Images of the typed transcription of a hand written letter from my great-great-grandfather, Henry K. Chamberlain, then living in Eagle Valley, Lincoln County, Nevada, to his parents, Franklin and Rebecca Chamberlain, in Blue Island, Cook County, Illinois. The date was November 30th but the year was not included in the letter. I'm not certain when his family arrived in Eagle Valley. One source says as early as 1865, but he was in the 1870 U.S. census for Eagle Ville, Iron Co., Utah. Articles in the Pioche, Nevada, Tri-Weekly Record state that he was elected Justice of the Peace for Eagle Valley in 1872 (he was a Republican and got 10 votes) and a School Trustee for Eagle Valley in 1876. He was in Lincoln County in the 1875 Nevada state census and is believed to have left there in the spring of 1880 or possibly before." Bud Irwin, girwin@customcpu.com
