Noah and Amanda were married on December 25, 1873 in Shenandoah County, Virginia. Their stillborn infant twin son, James, is buried beside his mother. Below are additional photos of the tombstones and well as a photo of Noah taken at one of the New Market Civil War Celebrations. He is posed with a friend James Lindamood. Also there's a photo of Noah and Amanda's 4 sons and 4 daughters. Pat Phillips Shelton of Mt. Jackson a descendant of Noah and Amanda contributed the portraits and clipping. If it wasn't for Mary Ellen Phillips, Pat & Doc Shelton this cemetery would not have been documented for future generation.
The fieldstones have no inscription. There identification was given by Joe Beedle from a slip of paper his father kept as to who was buried in the graves marked with stones. Legend also has a Union Soldier buried in this cemetery in an unmarked grave.
