Present thru 10/15/61. Hosp., sick, by 2/28/62. Joined (2nd) Co. D 21st Bn. Va. Inf. 8/1/62, Saltville. Paid in that unit thru 11/30/62 and on rolls thru 1/7/63 although "claimed by 48 Reg. Va. Vol." Returned to 48th Va. by 5/12/64 when captured Spotsylvania C.H. POW Point Lookout 5/18/64 to 7/30/64. POW Elmira 8/2/64 to 6/27/65 when released on oath. 5'6", dark complexion, dark eyes, dark hair in 1865. Died, Scott Co., after operation for eye injury, 5/5/91.
