Present 5/12/63. Promoted Sgt. Promoted 2nd Lt. 12/30/63 w/DOR 5/2/63. Present comdg. Company by 1/1/64 thru 3/24/64. WIA, rt. hand near wrist, Wilderness 5/5/64. Hosp. Farmville 5/10/64 to 5/28/64 when sent to Emory & Henry. Absent from unit thru 8/20/64. Captured Winchester 9/19/64. POW Harper's Ferry to 9/25/64 when sent to Ft. Delaware. POW there 9/27/64 to 10/6/64. POW Point Lookout 10/8/64 to 10/11/64. Received for exchange, Cox's Wharf, James River 10/15/64. Present in unit 10/29/64. Applied for medical retirement. Absent from unit 11/29/64 thru 2/27/65. Because he was within enemy lines during that period he could not appear befo! re medical exam board to complete retirement. Living, age 54, Scott Co., 8/14/88.
