John Britton Lundy

The following information is provide by Tracie J. Lundy, third great granddaughter of John Britton Lundy:

John Britton Lundy was born in April of 1839, to Daniel and Ruth Lundy.

Britton Lundy joined Co. G of the 48th Virginia Infantry in Lee Co., VA on July 15, 1861, as a private. He served until February 10, 1862, and was dischared at Winchester.

Then Britton Lundy joined Co. F of the 64th Virginia Mounted Infantry as a private. He enlisted on February 1, 1863, in Lee Co., VA. On Septemner 9, 1863, at Cumberland Gap he was captured and sent to the prison camp at Camp Douglas, IL. On April 28, 1865, he was paroled.

Britton moved to Tennessee and then to Macoupin Co., IL. Britton later returned to Lee Co., VA where in 1885, he married Mary Johnson. He lived in Lee Co., VA until his death.
