Terry Holmes of Bellingham, WA, secondky@aol.com, provides the following information:

EGBERT MOORE, born c. 1838 in Russell County, VA, enlisted on 6/20, 1861 in Washington County, VA, as a private in Co. B of the 48th Virginia Infantry, CSA. He received a flesh wound of the right hand during the Battle of Gettysburg on 07/02 or 07/03/1863, and was captured at South Mountain, PA, on 07/05/63. He remained in various Union hospitals until he was exchanged at City Point, VA, on 07/30/63. He was admitted to the Confederate hospital at Williamsburg, VA on 08/01/63, but was transferred to another unnamed hospital on 08/17/1863. No further record of his service survives.
