Lynchburg City, Virginia

The Independent City of Lynchburg was named for John Lynch, son of Charles and Sarah Lynch. On October 16, 1786, the Virginia
General Assembly granted John a Charter for the town of Lynchburg. It is bordered by Amherst, Bedford and Campbell Counties.
