From Yadkin County Medical Journal - Dr. Robertson died at age 43 from a wound he developed from riding horseback to treat his patients. He's buried at Hamlin-Dobson Cemetery, Rockford, Surry Co., NC His marker has masonic symbol at the top showing he was a mason having joined the Rockford Lodge in 1872.

Doris's Note: Every May I attend Memorial Service at Rockford and visit and place a confederate flag on Dr. Robertson's grave.

Ashley S. Robertson Notes:

Birth from 1900 Census, Lunenburg, which census shows Ashley, farmer, and Pattie had been married 44 years, she the mother of one child still living, Ashley owned his home.
See 1854 purchase of land and mention of house.

On the 1880 Census, B. B. Bruce, 64, mother-in-law, was listed in the Ashley Robertson household.
In 1998 Jack Pryor (gr-grandson] said the Ashley home was between the Willie Tyler Robertson home on (now occupied by Jack's son] and Kennelworth School, #622 going toward Rehobeth. Jack said the house burned before he remembers. Said he remembers that the boxwoods leading to the house remained there for some years and there was a cemetery behind where the house was, that his grandfather, Willie Tyler Robertson, kept up. He does not know if the tombstones remain there today. Jack said the present Robertson place (now occupied by his son) was understood by him to have been built around 1900 by his grandfather (Willie T.). Possibly this was after the 1900 Cen. which shows Ashley Robertson was owner of the house that included Willie T., son, merchant.

Tyler C. Robertson Notes:

Age and marriage date from 1900 Census Lunenburg.
Gerald Reinders' listings from Cool Spring Church Cem. show a stone "Tyler Robertson 1842-1902 CSA."
Census shows Tyler C. and Cornelia Robertson had been married 25 years and Cornelia was mother of no children.
Tyler, farmer, owned the home.
This may be the same person listed elsewhere as "Charles." If the same, he may be the Charles Robertson listed as 1st Lt. with Co. K, 23rd VA Inf. in published account of the 23rd VA Infantry by H. E. Howard, Inc.. Charles Robertson is listed as being captured 3-23-62 at Kernstown, so would not have been at the Battle at McDowell 4-21-62 where William H. Gregory was killed.
Tyler is mention as "captured" in Gregory family letters 4-20-62. Marcellus Robertson wrote from Camp Skinkers Neck 26 Feb 1863 and mentioned that both he and Tyler had written Ashley and others, which pretty well confirms that Tyler was in the same company and probably was the "Charles Robertson." Additionally, family letters mention 14 Aug 1863 that Tyler has been captured again, which goes along with record of "Charles Robertson" in the published regimental series.

Daniel Henry Robertson Notes:

Birth, death and marriage to Martha Edmundson in Lee-Gregory Bible
I have placed child William H. Robertson from Lee-Gregory Bible Register as child of Daniel H. Robertson and Martha Edmundson as it is reasonable that Martha's death 13 days after his birth, resulted from childbirth complications.

The below children are entered as children from the 2nd marriage, assuming Ann E. is the same as Elizabeth E. in the Lee-Gregory bible register, though it is possible Ann E. was a 3rd wife, the Aurilius A. Watkins being her child by a previous marriage.
