VA State Prisons and I found a telephone number and called. The prison was opened in 1931. It is prison for women and you can obtain records!!! If you know you had an ancestor in this facility all you need to do is write to Central Criminal Records P.O. Box 26963 Richmond VA 23261. Give the name and as much info as you can. Like birthdate social security number etc. You can only obtain general info and that would include the date of incarceration, conviction (I guess that means what they did to land themselves there) and where they were incarcerated. Evidently you can obtain records of this matter for any prison in the state of VA.
