Harris of Brunswick County, Virginia, my attorney to sell & Stettle all my estate in said State. It is my will that he pay all claims against me in Virginia out of the proceeds of the Sale of my real estate & the remainder if any pay over to my executors~ Item My two sons EDWARD & JOHN B. THROWER have been my agents in Arkansas should they have used any of my funds it is my will & desire that they or either of them return the money so used without paying interest thereon when it may suit their convenience. Item It is my will & desire that my son STERLING P. THROWER now at Randolph Macon College be furnished with money by my Exors. or Harris my atto. in Virginia to graduate him at said College & that he be charged with one thousand dollars as part of his portion of my estate in the division thereof which amount he cost me more than any other child in educating my children.~ It is my will & desire that my sons EDWARD HEZEKIAH D. & JOHN B. DEED - TILLMAN, Roger - Indenture made the 23rd day of May, 1767, between Parsons Bradley and wife, Mary, of Chesterfield County, parties of the first part, and Alexander Morrison of Prince George County, for 215 pounds, conveying 413 acres on both sides of Cocke's Creek on the country line of North Carolina and the county line of Lunenburg, and being part of a tract purchased by Frederick Jones, dec'd. of Roger Tillman, and by Jones sold to Bradley, and being the plantation where Roger Tillman formerly lived. In the name of God amen. I Philip Thurmond of Lexington Parish & County of Amherst, being weak in body, but of sound mind & memory & knowing that it is appointed for all meant once to die, do make constitute & ordain the following to be my last Will & Testament, concealing all former Wills by me made.-- In the first place I desire my body to be buried in decent Christian burial believing that I shall receive the same, at the great day of general resurrection & enjoy that happiness provided by the almighty for those that put their trust in him. And the worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose of it in the following manner, to wit, The whole of my estate real & personal I desire to be equally divided among all my children share & share alike, each accounting for what they have received from me, except my daughter, Judith & to her I give & bequeath an equal share with my other children & over & above her said equal share, I give & bequeath unto her my two Negroes, Rachel & Reuben & also my book case & desk, a feather bed & furniture, my best table & chest, my grey mare, & a saddle, for which she is not to account, but to have an equal share besides any other children; & as disputes may possibly arise concerning what each child may have received from me, to prevent which I here set down the amount thereof, for which each is to account in the division of my Estate & no more, my daughter Sally, were [Ware] have received to the amount of one hundred pounds for which she is to account, and no more, my son Wm. KNOW all men by these presents, that we Judith Thurmond William Thurmond & William Sledd are held and firmly bound unto Sam'l Meredith, Will Cabell, James Woods, Velno Christian, Gentlemen, Justices of the Court of Amherst County, now 5 setting in the sum of ten thousand dollars, to the payment whereof well and truly to be made to the said justices, and their successors, we bind ourselves and each of us, our and each of our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals this 21st day of May in the year of our Lord 1804 and in the 28th year of the commonwealth-- The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound Judith Thurmond executrix of the last Will and Testament of Philip Thurmond, deceased, do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of her the said Judith Thurmond or in the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her and the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited in the county court of Amherst at such time as she shall be thereunto required by the said court, and the same goods, chattels and credit, and all other the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which at any time after shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of the said Judith Thurmond, or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her to well and truly administer, according to laws and farther do make a just and true account of her actings and doings therein, when thereto required by the said court and also shall well and truly pay and deliver to the legacies contained and specified in the said testament as far as the said goods, chattels and credits will thereunto extend and the law shall charge; then this obligation to be void and of no effect or else to remain in full force and virtue

The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound Judith Thurmond executrix of the last Will and Testament of Philip Thurmond, deceased do make or cause to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all, and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of her the said Judith Thurmond, or into the hands and possession of any other person or persons for her, and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited in the County Court of Amherst at such time as she shall be thereunto required by the said court, and the same goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which at any time after shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of the said Judith Thurmond, or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her do well and truly administer, according to law; and farther, do make a just and true account of her actings and doings therein, when thereto required by the said Court, and also shall well and truly pay and deliver all the legacies contained and specified in the said Testament as far as the said goods, chattels and credits will thereunto extend and the law shall charge, then this obligation to be void and of no effect or else to remain in full force and virtue Signed, Sealed and delivered In the presence of
