military discharge

(English translation of military discharge submitted by Joseph F. Kubista of his great-great-grandfather)

MILITARY DISCHARGE OF BARTHOLOME KUBISTA

The holder of this discharge certificate, the manly and brave Bartholome Kubista, was born at Prezendnores Wieser County in the area of Iglau, Moravia. He was 30 years old, Catholic religion, unmarried and without profession. He has served 68 months, first as private and then as corporal, in the 6th Currassier Regiment under Moritz Prince Lichtenstein. During his service he was honest, faithful and well behaved so that it was a pleasure to have him for his fine behavior. We would have liked to keep him in our regiment if we had not received a letter from E.H. Ludwig, Infantry Commander of District No.8, Iglau, on April 13, 1811; that he be discharged since he is a tax paying land owner.

Herewith Corporal Bartholome Kubista in testimony of his well behavior and blameless conduct is being discharged from the Imperial and Royal Army. For his fine behavior everybody is asked everywhere to let him pass freely and help him if he has a request just as the 6th Currassier Regiment under Moritz Prince Lichtenstein would have done.
