died at his home in south part of town Tuesday.

LAD DIES FOLLOWING APPENDIX OPERATION

     Peter Mikus, 17, son of Mrs Carolina Mikus of Amelia, died Thursday last week, following an operation for appendicitis at the hospital in Stuart. The young man was employed on the Lee and Prentice ranch south of Atkinson until about a week before his death when he took sick with appendicitis and was taken to Stuart for the operation. He seemed to be getting along nicely until a few hours before his death.

     Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at the Methodist Church in Atkinson Interment was made in Woodlawn Cemetery.

     Peter Mikus, son of Joe and Carolina Mikus, was bornin Tarentum, Penn, Feb 10,1911 and departed this life Aug 23,1928 at the age of 17 years, 6 months and 13 days.

     In 1914 he came with his parents to Holt County. Two years after coming to Nebraska, his father returned to Penn and his family has not heard from him since that time.

     He leaves to mourn his departure his mother, Mrs Carolina Mikus; grandmother, Mrs Vidra, a sister, Anna, 2 brothers, Stephen and Joe, and his uncle, Carl Vidra, all of Amelia, and other relatives and friends.
