Entered the service at Omaha, Neb., May 22, 1918, and was trained at Great Lakes and Harvard University for duty in the U. S. N. Radio School, and received his discharge papers February 25, 1919.

2. Otto C. Smith, Fireman, First Class,    Son of J. S. Smith, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Denver, Colo., Dec. 13, 1917, and was trained at Mare Island, Calif., for duty in the U. S. Transport Service. Was on U. S. S. Harrisburg, making ten trips across the ocean.

3. Rosil C. Draper, Q. M. First Class,    Son of Charles Draper, Ansley, Neb.
Entered the service at Omaha, Neb., Jan. 21, 1918, and was trained at Great Lakes, and New London, Conn., for duty in the Navy, on board U. S. S. C. 263, submarine chaser, and received his discharge January 24, 1919.

4. Charles V. Campany, Gunner,    Son of Mrs. E. S. Campany, Ogalalla, Neb.
Served four years before the war; was called back into service, April 7, 1917, for duty as gunner on the U. S. S. DeKalb.

5. James Vernon Lunsford, Seaman,    Son of August Lunsford, Elmcreek, Neb.
Entered the service at Denver, Colo., Dec. 1, 1917, and was trained at Goat Island and Mare Island, Calif., for service m the U. S. Navy, serving on board the U. S. S. Leviathan.

6. Ray J. Lantz, Gunners Mate,    Son of Chris Lantz, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Chicago, Iii., Nov. 8, 1917, and was trained at Great Lakes and Newport for Patrol Service in the U. S. Navy; also served on destroyer and submarine. Discharged March 10, 1919.

7. William J. Hosek, Yoeman, Second Class,    Son of Mrs. Martha Flosek, Ravenna, Neb.
Entered the service at Omaha, Neb., Feb. 8, 1918, and was trained at Great Lakes Naval Training Station for duty in the Marine Service, with the 13th Regiment. Received his discharge March 27, 1919.

8. Wm. M. Rumpeltes, Radio, First Class,    Son of Mrs. Marie Rumpeltes, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Omaha, Neb., Dec. 22, 1917, and was trained at U. S. Naval Radio School in 37th Co. U. S. Radio. In foreign waters on U. S. S. Utah, 6th Division Flagship. On U. S. S. Utah in escort to President Wilson, Dec. 12, '18.

1. Corporal Theodore M. Carlson,    Son of Alfred Carlson, Shelton, Neb. Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., October 4, 1917, and trained at Camp Funston, for duty with Hdq. Co., Signal Service, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. In St. Mihiel and Argonne offensives and Army of Occupation.

2. Private Richard M. Wakefield,    Son of Mrs. D. A. Trudgen, Parkerton, Wyo.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., April 13, 1917, and was trained at Camp Cody and Ft. Sill, for duty with Bat. E, 127th F. A., 2nd Army, later crossing and seeing four months, twenty-eight days in France. Discharged Jan. 22, '19.

3. Sergeant William M. Bolan,    Son of Mrs. Thomas Bolan, Elmcreek, Neb.
Entered the service at Lexington, Neb., Sept. 19, 1917, and trained at Camp Funston, for duty with Co. A, 341st M. G. Bat., 89th Division. Served 93 days in trenches at St. Mihiel, Argonne Woods, and other offensives.

4. Private Herman F. Reese,    Son of Ernest C. Reese, Shelton, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., Sept. 4, 1918, and was trained at Camp McArthur, Texas, for duty with Co. B, 1st Replacement. Discharged March 7, 1919.

5. Private Wm. H. Hebb,    Son of H. S. Hebb, Riverdale, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., Oct. 4, 1917, and was trained at Camp Funston, for duty as orderly in Hdq. Co., 89th Division. Saw service in the St. Mihiel drive, and other engagements.

6. Private Nelson O. Albin,    Son of R. G. Albin, Gibbon, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., May 26, 1917, and trained at Camp Cody, and Ft. Sill, for duty in Battery D, 127th Heavy Field Artillery. Was in England and France. Discharged January 22, 1919.

7. Sergeant Henry C. Hackman,    Son of W. C. Hackman Shelton, Neb.
Entered the service at Ft. Logan, Colo., May 2, 1918, and trained at that point, Camp Fremont, Camp Mills, and Camp Lee, for duty with Co. B, 8th Division. Discharged from service February 27, 1919.

8. Private George V. Fieldgrove,    Son of William H. Fieldgrove, St. Michael, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., June 24, 1918, and trained at Camp Funston, for duty with Co. C, 69th Infantry. Discharged January 31, 1919.

2. Corporal Walter W. Lancaster,    Son of T. H. Lancaster, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., March 7, 1918, and trained at Ft. Totten, N. Y., and Camp Eustis, Va., for duty with the 50th Regiment of Artillery. On S. O. S. duty at Brest and St. Nazaire, France. Discharged Feb. 27, '19.

3. Ira J. Hornbeck, Farrier,    Son of Moses C. Hornbeck.
Entered the service at Grand Island, Neb., May 4, 1917, and trained at Fort Bliss, Texas, for duty with Battery A, 13th Field Artillery. Saw service in France, and later with the Army of Occupation.

4. Private Vaclar Hrad,    Son of Vaclar Hrad, Sobesice, Czecho-Slovak. Entered the service at Ravenna, Neb., May 27, 1918, and trained at Camp Dodge and Fort Brady, for duty with Co. D, 18th Battalion, U. S. Infantry. Discharged January 13, 1919, at Camp Grant, Illinois.

5. Ira P. Bourne,    Son of Perry Bourne, Poole, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., August 29, 1918, and trained at Camp Funston, for duty with I. M. C. Remount, 323. Was still in service during summer of 1919.

6. Private David H. Olson,    Son of Mrs. Augusta Olson, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., October 4, 1917, and trained at Camp Funston, for duty with Hdq. Co., 355th Infantry, 89th Division. Saw service in St. Mihiel, Verdun, Argonne Woods, and sniper in "no man's land" the day armistice was signed; later with Army of Occupation.

7. Private Julius F. Seifert,    Son of Julius Seifert, Pleasanton, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., June 24, 1918, and was trained at Ft. Riley, for duty with Medical Corps, Evacuation Hospital No. 13. Saw service in France at St. Mihiel, and later with Army of Occupation. Discharged July 7, 1919.

8. Sergeant Edward P. McDermott,    Son of E. J. McDermott, Shelton, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., June 24, 1918, and trained at Camp Funston, Ft. Riley and Camp Hancock, for duty with 164th D. B., 10th Division. Discharged December 19, 1918. Lawyer at Kearney, Nebraska.

Entered the service by enlistment, October 30, 1918, and was trained at Kelley Field, Texas, for duty in the Mechanical Department of Aviation, where he remained for the period of the war.

2. Clarence Guy Pierce,    Son of Guy Pierce, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service in October, 1918, and trained at Kelley Field, Texas, for duty in aviation as a mechanic. Is now in the auto business, at Kearney, Nebraska.

3. Walter Gallant,    Kearney, Nebraska.
Entered the service during the summer of 1918, for training at Kelley Field, Texas, in the Mechanical Department of aviation, for duration of the war.

4. Royal C. Highland,    Pleasanton, Nebraska.
Entered the service for duty with the United States Army, attached to 872d Aero Squadron. Trained at St. Paul, Minnesota. No other information obtainable.

5. Archibald F. Lewis,    Son of Mary J. Lewis, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service by enlistment, in November 1916, for duty in the Aviation Department. Sent to Hawaiian Islands; crossing to France in 1918. Is still in the service but expects to be returned to the United States during the year of 1919.

6. George R. Curd,    Son of J. D. Curd, Amherst, Neb.
Entered the service at Omaha, Neb., May 31, 1918, and trained at the Curtiss Aviation School, for duty with the U. S. Naval Aviation. Stationed at U. S. Naval Aviation Repair Base at Eastlight, England, for three months. Discharged February 3, 1919.

7. Sergeant Jay M. James,    Son of Mrs. Margaret James, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Grand Island, August 10, 1917, and trained at Kelley Field, for duty with the 9th Aero Squadron, 3rd Army, A. E. F. On the Verdun, Chateau-Thiery and was one of ten to gain entrance into Metz before it was closed.

8. Corporal Albert P. Siebenaler,    Son of Mat Siebenaler, Elmcreek, Neb.
Entered the service at Sidney, Neb., December 2, 1917, and was trained at Fort Logan, Kelley Field and Fort Sill, for duty with 33d Co., Balloon Corps.

Entered the service at Fort Logan, Colo., in September, 1917, and trained at Camp Robinson, Wis., and Camp du Valdahon, France, for duty with Hdq. Co., 2nd Division. Saw service in Verdun, Chateau-Thierry, Soissons, St. Mihiel, Champagne, and Argonne-Meuse offensives. Croix de Guerre decoration.

2. Roy E. Wolford,    Son of Mrs. J. W. Wolford, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the Service at Omaha, Neb., July 29, 1918, and was trained at Fort Logan and Ft. Worden, Wash., for duty with the Coast Artillery. Transferred to Officers Training Camp at Fortress Monroe, Va. Discharged November 28, 1918.

3. Private James W. Ferbache,    Son of George Ferbache, Adona, Arkansas
Entered the service at Perryville, Ark., June 23, 1918, and trained at Camp Pike and Camp Beauregard, for duty with Co. M, 125th Infantry, 32d Division. Under shell fire for eighteen days in the Argonne Forest. Wounded and in the hospital four months. Discharged February 19, 1919.

4. Private Willie Miller,    Son of August Miller, Grand Island, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., Oct. 4, 1917, and was trained at Camp Funston, for duty in Hdq. Co., 89th Division. Saw service with the 89th and returned for demobilization.

5. Herman Ray Poole, Q. M. Sergeant,    Son of R. E. Poole, Gibbon, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., July 22, 1918, and was trained at Camp Dodge and Camp Johnston, for duty with the Quarter-Master Corps, 341st Co. Was in no battles as armistice was signed about time he got to France.

6. Private Guy M. Wilcox,    Son of Wm. V. Wilcox, Gibbon, Neb.
Entered the service at Grand Island, Neb., July 29, 1918, and was trained at Fort Warden, and Fort Casey, for duty in the 4th Co., 164th D. B. Did not go over. Discharged, December 31, 1918.

7. Private Chester M. Wilcox,    Son of Wm. V. Wilcox, Gibbon, Neb.
Entered the service at Grand Island, Neb., May 29, 1918, and trained at Camp Presideo, for duty with 67th C. A. C., Heavy Artillery. Transferred to transportation service at La Beuveline. Discharged March 22, 1919.

8. Private George D. Magowan,    Son of Ed. H. Magowan, Gibbon, Neb.
Entered the service at Grand Island, Neb., July 18, 1918, and trained at Ft. Rosecrans, San Diego, Calif., for duty in Hdq. Co., 2nd Bat., 53d Coast Artillery Corps. Discharged March 29, 1919. Sent to France in a Replacement Detachment.
