Pasco County Pioneer Founding Families

This list of Pioneer Founding Families came from the Pioneer Memorial at the Historic Pasco County Court House in Dade City. In 1995 the Pasco County Genealogical and Historical Societies came up with the idea of creating a memorial to the original settlers of Pasco County and having the descendants of those pioneers submit an application for a plaque for their ancestor or ancestors to be placed on the memorial.
To qualify you had to submit proof that the pioneer lived in Pasco County before or at the time Pasco was created from the southern 1/3 of Hernando County in 1887. Documentation could be in the form of birth records, land records, 1885 Florida State census records, marriage records, family bibles, and cemetery records. This list is the result of the applications received and approved by the Genealogical and Historical Societies as Pioneer Founding Families.
The list only represents the Pioneers whose families applied for a memorial plaque and is not intended to imply that these were the only families living in what became Pasco County in 1887.
