The records for purchases before June 1887 were originally filed with the Clerk of the Court in Hernando County, Florida. When Pasco County was created on June 2, 1887, these records were then transferred to the Clerk of the Court of Pasco County.
This list only contains those land patents lying south of the existing Hernando-Pasco County Line. The lands were acquired by purchase from the United States Land Office. At that time the nearest Government Land Office was in Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida. Full purchase price had to have been received at the time the Certificates were issued.
These records were transcribed from microfilm by Mary Wilson in 1995 and every effort was made to insure that the transcription is correct.
