The 1860 Agricultural Schedule for Florida was microfilmed by the University of North Carolina Library under a grant from the National Science Foundation and filmed from original records at Florida State University. There are forty-six columns of information on each individual. Only the head of the household is addressed. I using the six columns of information that I believe to be the most significant for genealogical purposes. The columns used are shown below:
- 1. Name of Owner
- 2. Acres of Improved Land
- 3. Acres of Unimproved Land
- 4. Cash Value of the Farm
- 5. Value of Farm Implements and Machinery
- 13. Value of Livestock
The dash symbol (-) is used to maintain spacing where information in a column is left blank. In some instances, information shown as property acreage is rented.
