To reach the cemetery from I-75 west of Jasper, FL take Exit 460 onto SR 6 West and travel 10.4 miles to CR 143. Turn right onto CR 143 and travel 1.2 miles to the home of Thomas C. and Carolyn McCulley at 6399 NW CR 143. Turn left off of CR 143 onto the unpaved roadway beside Thomas McCulley's home. Travel 2/10 mile to a second home (Richard McCulley home). Bear right on the unpaved roadway, it will lead into the pine forest, beginning through a canopy of trees just beyond the house. From the lane under the canopy of trees the trail makes a hard right just in front of an aluminum gate leading to pasture land. Follow to the right for 1/10 mile, the cemetery will be on the left. NOTE: There at a couple of points where the trail branchs off, bear to the left at all times. The cemetery is fenced in with wooden sign indicating Wells Cemetery.
Special Note: Just beyond the canopy of trees is a log cabin that was once the Wells home. It was built circa 1890. The McCulleys have restored and preserved the cabin and cemetery.
Wells Cemetery was first canvassed by Winnie Smith Hodges and published in her book "Cemeteries of Hamilton County" in 1991. The cemetery was re-surveyed and photographed by Lesleigh Laite Butts and Marie Cantlin June 24, 2008.
