Mitchell Cemetery is located in rural Hamilton County on property at 6856 CR 158 currently owned by Mrs. Catherine Mitchell Hall. Hamilton County Property Appraiser Parcel 3064-010 in Section 36 Twp 1 N Range 13 E; (Lat. 30.4427190 Lon. -82.9834671). This area of Hamilton County was once referred to as Hillcoat.

From Exit 451 on I-75 take US 129 South and travel 9/10 of a mile and turn right onto CR 158. Travel 3.1 miles. The cemetery sets back off the road behind the residence at 6856 CR 158. Setback is at left angle 1/10 mile from the road and is surrounded by a chain link fence.

Per Mr. Shelton Mitchell, adjacent and to the west of Mitchell Cemetery approximately 25 to 30 Mitchell family slaves were buried.

Mitchell Cemetery was first surveyed by Winnie Smith Hodges and published in her book Cemeteries of Hamilton County in 1991. The cemetery was re-surveyed and photographed by Lesleigh Laite Butts on Oct 25, 2008.
