Herring Cemetery

Herring Cemetery is located on timberland in rural Jennings, Florida. Hamilton County Property Appraiser Parcel 3842-000 in Section 221 Twp 3N Range 12E; owner of record is American Enterprise Bank of Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.
From the town of Jennings at the intersection of Plum Street and Hamilton Avenue go north on Plum Street (US 41N). Travel 6/10 of a mile and turn left onto NW 9th Street (unpaved). Travel 1.4 miles on NW 9th Street. On the right there will be an unpaved roadway leading into the pine forest which has a chain/locked obstruction at approximately 50 yards with a sign "Posted - No Trespassing". The cemetery is 3/10 of a mile on the left from the chain at the entrance. Inquire at the Jennings Police Department at City Hall regarding access.
Herring Cemetery was first surveyed by Winnie Smith Hodges and published in her book Cemeteries of Hamilton County in 1991. The cemetery was re-surveyed and photographed by Lesleigh Laite Butts February 23, 2011.
