Estes |
My grandparents, Alfred T Estes and Ella Mae Estes, resided for a time in Converse County (1920 census record); two infant daughters are buried there - Viginia Lee and Elizabeth Jean. I believe they died in 1919. I found a record that they are in the cemetary there in the Douglas Park Cemetary. I am interested in discovering why my grandparents lived in Converse County. Any information you can share, resources you can point me to etc would be appreciated. |

Trying to locate the obituary for JOHN R 'JACK' ROUSH, d. 10/27/1992, bur. Douglas Park Cemetery. Jack was the only son of Francis 'Fritz' Roush and Jessie Cunningham Roush. Jack was my Army buddy, we served together from 1959 until discharge in 1962. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am unable to find any free access sites to Converse County obituaries. Thanking all in advance. |

Whitmore |
I am looking for my husband's ancestors. When my husband's ggg grandfather got to Galesburg, IL from Canada in the 1860s, his wife died and he gave his two daughters away and kept his two sons. One of the daughters was adopted by a family named Whitmore and she married one of the sons (according to a story written by a school boy in 1960). The couple may have been David B. and Harriet Whitmore although I am not certain of this. It states in the story that the Whitmores had one daughter who operated a hotel at Rollins, Wyoming. David and Harriet were married in 1887. Is there any record in Converse County, WY of these Whitmores? I wish I had more information to give you. Thank you for your help. |

Adams, Cunningham |
I am doing some military research on Benjamin F. & Ernest A. Cunningham of Co. F, 1st WY. Infantry, U.S. Volunteers for the Philippine Campaign. In my research for Ernest A. Cunningham, I came across a card for a Pension application for him and his widow. He had an alias as Ernest A. Adams and had additional service 'Border Defense' in 1916 with Co. G, 2nd Inf., Mont. Nat'l Guard. In the Philippine Campaign Roster both of the Cunninghams are listed and there is also an Ernest Adams listed at that time with Co. F., 1st Wyo. Inf. Can you shed any light on Ernest Adams & Ernest A. Cunningham? Is it a seperate man, Ernest Adams on the Philippine Campaign roster? Did something happen for Ernest Cunningham to move to Montana and change his name? Thanks.... |
