William Leard Arrested

Source: Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, Oshkosh, Wisconsin February 28, 1888

William Leard, residing in Sheboygan township, was arrested for an alleged assault upon Alma Carns, the ten years old step-daughter of Henry Fessler, of Sheboygan. In the complaint it is stated that the attempted outrage took place upon the 18th of the present month. The defendant, who is about sixty-five years of age, claims that the charge is an attempt at blackmail. The preliminary hearing has been set for March 7.
