As A Result Of Dare
Rudolph Neigbacher, a Local Butcher Jumps From Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge Into River at Midnight and Boldly Swims to Shore - - His Companions Daring Him to do it.
As a result of a dare, Rudolph Neigbacher jumped from the Pennsylvania avenue bridge at half past eleven o'clock last night and swam to shore.
The man is an expert swimmer and a short time ago, when he visited the Born's natatorium protested vehemently because the guard would not permit him to dive into the tank from the railing above.
Yesterday evening he visited a local saloon and several of his friends kidded him about it. "I will show them yet, that I have got the goods" and he hurried to the bridge followed by a score or more of admirers. Pulling off his clothes he jumped in and swam to shore. Mr. Neigbacher is a butcher in the employment of the Patton butcher shop.
