A very pretty wedding occurred Wednesday morning at Our Lady of Angels
church, when Miss Kathryn Scannell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick
Scannell of East Forest and William H. Burns, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Burns
of this place were united in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. Father
Krause. The bride was attired in a gown of white charmouse, satin trimmed
with Princess lace and pearls, and wore a veil caught up with roses and
carried a white prayer book. Miss Agnes Scannell, sister of the bride,
acted as bridesmaid and was gowned in a blue crepe du chene dress trimmed
with shadow lace. She wore a white picture hat and carried a bouquet of
pink and white roses. The groom was attended by his brother George Burns.
After the ceremony the couple repaired to the home of the bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Scannell, where a five-course dinner was served, covers
being laid for twenty-two. Those who served at the tables were Misses Laura
Twohig of Fond du Lac, Mayme Foy and Dora Bartell. The dining room was
beautifully decorated with pink and white roses and the living room in
yellow and white. During the afternoon many selections were rendered on the
piano by guests present. The couple received many costly and use(ful
gifts).
At 4:30 o'clock, Mr. and Mrs. Burns left for Fond du Lac and from there they
took an evening train to Milwaukee and other points in the southern part of
the state. Upon their return they will reside on the groom's farm at
Armstrong. Mr. and Mrs. Burns have a host of friends who wish them a long
and happy journey through life.
