Calvary Lutheran University Chapel in Madison was the scene of the wedding Saturday afternoon, Feb. 2, in which Miss Joann Lieding, formerly of Sheboygan, and Ensign C. Richard Oldenburg exchanged vows at 4 o'clock, before the Rev. Edward Wessling.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Peter Van Stelle, Oostburg, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Roeder, Appleton. The bride's brother, Vernon Lieding, Sheboygan, presented her in marriage.

The double-ring ceremony was enhanced by the singing of Char Linse of Mondovi and music included the `Wedding Benediction' and `The Lord's Prayer.'

Ensign and Mrs. Oldenburg will make their future home in Coronado, Calif., after Feb. 22, and the bridegroom will be serving aboard the USS El Dorado in the Pacific area.

A white silk shantung dress, in waltz length, was the choice of the bride. Lace bordered the neckline and the long sleeves of the princess-style gown and her fingertip veil fell from a small crown headpiece. She carried a prayerbook, topped with a white orchid and trimmed with flower-dotted streamers.

Mrs. Sally Hasselkus, Dousman, Wis., roommate of the bride at the University of Wisconsin, was matron of honor, and her cranberry red velveteen dress featured a round neckline that dropped in back to a bow. Sides and back of the skirt were gathered and it fell to waltz length, also. Her flowers were red garnet roses outlined with white carnations in colonial style.

From Appleton came the bridesmaid, Miss Dorothy Oldenburg, a sister of the bridegroom, and Susan Lieding of Sheboygan, a niece of the bride, was a junior attendant. Both wore gowns matching that of the matron of honor. Flowers were similar also.

Another Sheboyganite, Phillip Stubenrauch, served as best man and Robert Wamser of Milwaukee was groomsman. Ushers were David Ehlers of Madison and Howard Hasselkus of Dousman.

Following the ceremony, a buffet dinner and reception were held at the Park Hotel, where many guests from other cities gathered to extend good wishes. Besides a busload of Sheboyganites, guests came from Sturgeon Bay, Appleton, La Crosse and Dousman.

In June of 1956, Mrs. Oldenburg received her B.S. Degree in Home Economics from the University of Wisconsin and she has been employed in the library of the state university.

This month the bridegroom was awarded his B.S. Degree in finance at UW and served as president of the Finance Society of the School of Commerce. He is affiliated with Acadia Fraternity.

Nob Hill, Madison, was the location of the rehearsal dinner for the bridal party and parents of the couple Friday evening.
